Council Minutes of 2-15-77 -5- Ordinance No. 77-8 introduced by Mr. Boehmer was given its third reading. An Ordinance authorizing the Buileg Commissioner to proceed with the demolition or remova3 of a detached garage located on perma'etient parcel No. 235-13-81,$2, on Porter Road in the City of North Olem<ted, and declaring an e~trgency. Mr. Boehmer moved for adoption, seconded by Mrs. Sharpe. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehaier, Fairfield, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Motion carried. Ord. No. 77-8 adopted. Ordinance No. 77-11 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its second reading. An Ordinance establishing and fixing the compensation for the President of Council of the City of North Opted for the term of office commencing January 1, 1978, and ending December 31, 1981, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Fairfield stated he would like to interrupt if he could: thinks the pay increases for Councilmen and other City Officials should be referred back to Finance Committee because he believes since we do have a problem with our sewer rates at this time; since we do have a problem with our Rec Center financing - he would like to see the pay increases for City Officials referred back to Committee for further study. Does not know if we can afford at this time until our finances are; better arranged to go ahead with pay raises for the City Officials. Discussion ensued. Deadline for notification to the Board of 8lections was discussed. Mr. West thinks the pay increases ought to come up for vote next time and either turn them down or accept them - we have got to do something by March. Mr. Wila~sky confirmed with Law Director Gateau with respect to the proposed rates for elected officials that the Board of 8lections has to be notified of whatever the pay scale is for elected officials - whether it be the same, increased or decxeased - and it has to be done by ordinance. .Ordinance No. 77-12 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was gives its second reading. An Ordinance establishing and fixing the compensation for all Council Members, both Ward and At-Large, of the City of North Olmsted for the term of office commencing January 1, 1978 and ending December 31, 1979 and December 31, 1981, respectively, and declaring an emergency.
