Council Minutes of 2-15-77 -9- <br />Mr. Beaty stated he received some calls this past week with regard to the odor <br />problem at the Sewer Treatment Plant. Knows the Environmental Control Comsd.ttee <br />has studied it but requested this be put back into the Banvironme~ntal Control <br />Committee and Air. Beaty will be glad to work with the Com~ititee. 8e has talked <br />to people who have talked to the Air Pollution Control do~mtoa~n and they feel <br />that there is a problem. Preseffitly Council is in the process of trying to decide <br />how to spend the Federal Block Gaca~tt Fads. If possible Mr. Beaty would like the <br />odor problem at the Treatment Plant to be placed back into Coramtittee to reestablish <br />that there is a problem and ease ff they could make recommendations tc~tard using <br />some of the Block Grant Funds toward alleviating the problem that is pretty wide- <br />spread down at the Plant. <br />,President Lampert referred same into Environmental Control Com~aittee. <br />Mr. Wilamosky referred to Mr. Boehmer's report with resgect to the purchase of <br />walkie talkies in sum of $4,797. with grant approval of $4,SOO. and asked when <br />the City can e~tpect to be reimbuxs~ the $4,5fl0. D#.ecussion ensued. Safety <br />Director Carnahan stated the City dog not have to spttnd $4,797. - all the City <br />has to spend is $240. With this particular grant there is no reimbursement. <br />v <br />'.Mayor Christman stated he neglected to include in his report that the appropriation <br />ordinance for the balance of the pear e~hich he should have had in by today - because <br />Qf the receiving o€ the balances from 1976 the last week of January and the problem <br />~;n trying to overcome some of the sewer fund deficit - is not quite ready with it <br />but will have it by Friday. <br />j3nder New Business: <br />Air. Boehmer requested legislation authorizing the Safety Director to advertise for <br />bids for walkie talkies and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract. <br />President Lampert referred the. resurfacing of Columbia Rd. into Transportation <br />Committee, Streets & Drainage Committee and Finance Committee. <br />Mr. West moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Boehmer. Affirmative vote: Beaty, <br />Boehmer, Fairfield, Sarir~ger, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky.
