Council Minutes of 1-4-77 <br />-6- <br />Resolution No. 76-192 introduced by rlrs. Sharpe was given its secornd reading. <br />A Resolution accepting for recording purposes only the Shore West Construction <br />Company Subdivision in the City of North Olmsted. <br />Ordinance No. 76-193 introduced by Mrs. Sharpe was given its second reading. <br />An Ordinance accepting a grant of right-of-way from the North Olmsted Board <br />of Education for the extension and widening of Duane Road in the City of North <br />Olmsted. <br />Ordinance No. 76-19~+ introduced by Mrs. Sharpe was given its second reading. <br />An Ordinance granting an easement to Cleveland Eiectri.c Illuminating Company and <br />Ohio Bell Telephone Company for the installation of underground electric trans- <br />mission lines and underground communication. lines to be located over and through <br />city property in the City Line Estates Subdivision in the City of North Olmsted. <br />Ordinance No. 77-1 was introduced by Mr. Wilamosky. An Ordinance to make <br />appropriatiaas for current expenses and other expenditures far the City of North <br />Olmsted, Ohio, for the year endimg•December 31, 1977. Mr. Wilamosky moved for <br />suspension of rule requiring three separate readings, seconded by Mrs. Sharpe. <br />Affirmative vote: Beaty, r, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Abstained: <br />Fairfield. Mr. Wilamosky moved for adoption, seconded by Mrs. Sharpe. Affirmative <br />vote: Beaty, Boehuter, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Abstained: Fairfield. <br />6 Yeas - 1 Abstain -Motion carried. Ord. No. 77-1 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 77-2 was introduced by Mayor Christman and given its first read~.ng. <br />An Ordinance amending Section 911.0 entitled "Charges Generally" of Chapter 911 <br />entitled "Sanitary Sewerage System Charges" of the Codified Ordinances of the <br />City of North Olmsted, and declaring an urgency. <br />Under Old Business: <br />Mr. West stated in the newspapers he noticed that cities including North Olmsted <br />have been passed over on sosm of these grants and asked if this is a true <br />statement. Mayor thinks this is the first round - have not received zmrtification <br />that we have been turned down as soma commnunitaes have - it is still sketchy as <br />to our likelihood of receiving anything. Mr. Caster commented he was informed <br />that we would hear definitely by December. <br />Under New Business: <br />Mrs. Saringer referred to the appointment that is open on the Zoning Board of <br />Appeals and stated she would like to submit to Mayor Christman the name of Mr. <br />Chet Remmel and will forward Resume of Mr. Remmel to Mayor Christman for has <br />consideration. <br />Mr. Wilamosky stated this time of year it is customary that Council appoint a <br />President Fro Tem and requested President Lampert to ask for nominations. <br />President Lampert asked for nominations for Council President Pro Tem for 1977. <br />Mr. Fairfield nominated Mr's. Saringer. Mr. Beaty nominated Mr. West. President <br />Lampert asked if there were any other nominations; there being none President <br />Lampert called for a roll call on nomination for President Pro Tem. Mr. Beaty <br />stated Mr. West; Mr. Boeh~r stated Mxs. Saringer; Mr. Fairfield stated Mrs. <br />Saringer; Mrs. Saringer -abstained; Mrs. Sharpe stated Mr. West; Mr. Went - <br />abstaaned; Mr. Wilamosky stated Mrs. Saringer. 3- Saringer; 2 - ~fest; 2 -Afi-stain. <br />Law Director Gareau commented it is not really proper to abstain in a situation <br />like this; the only way a Council Member can abstain is if there is a conflict of <br />... ~nW [ °Ne: _.. :mss -s ~..~>.4 il• w •y.v;.-- <br />
