Beringer requested the Clerk of Council send our neighboring commurities a copy <br />of our phosphate ordinance along with a letter asking them if they would consider <br />adopting such an ordinance. Will get together with the Clerk in regard to terminology. <br />Mrs. Petrigae stated this is already a concern of [lard 5 in Fairview. The condominiums <br />along Mastick Road are in Waxd 5 and they are tying in. Thinks they are already very <br />much aware and are wondering how this is going to be taken care of in regard to our <br />ordinance. <br />Mr. Logan asked Air. Petra if a retailer is found guilty of selling any high phosphate <br />detergents, what action is taken. Mr. Petra stated it was discussed with the <br />Prosecutor and have established guidelines and procedures which will be followed to <br />properly document the sale and have made provisions for testing the detergent it- <br />self "in house". Guilty parties will be prosecuted. <br />President Lampert discussed with Safety Director Petra his remarks concerning the <br />high accideat rate on Lorain Road - what is the cause and the extent of these <br />accidents. Mr. Petra did not have the detailed report that was coiled with him but <br />reported there were 48 accidents, from Country Club Boulevard to Canterbury. <br />Discussion continued. Air. Bcehmer stated this was taken up at the Safety Committee <br />meeting and it instill in committee. Mr. Lampert said he would like to have some in- <br />put on it. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman of Streets and Drainage Committee reported: 1) committee naet <br />on November 13th and discussed Ordinance No. 78152 which was removed from the agenda <br />this evening for a lack of inforadation. <br />2) committee discussed Ordinance 130. 78-163 which is on the agenda this evening and <br />committee has no objection, <br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman of Enviroamental Control Committee reported: l) -committee met <br />and has no objection to Ordinance No. 7$-132 as amended which is on third reading phis <br />evening. The rest of hez report dealt with the low phosphate ordinance and it hss <br />already been covered enough. <br />2) will be asking for suspension of rule requiring three readings on Ordinance No. <br />78-155 far the following reasons: the Landmarks Committee would like to designate <br />City Hall as a landmark at a Family Christmas Tree Lightfn$ Night. tentative <br />agenda for this is Sunday evening, December 3rd, at 7 P.M. Are pla~ring a Comsaunity <br />Christmas Caroling and tkte Ptayor will activate the switch which will turn on the <br />lighting of the tree. Committee is approaching the schools and asl~ing the students to <br />make ornau~ents. Other persons, including businesses and organizations, who would like <br />to donate ornaments are invited to do so. All ornaments which weather the season <br />will be put away for next year - hoping that the Christmas tree lighting will be <br />an annual affair. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman of Transportation and Public Safety, Health end Welfare Co~i.ttee <br />reported: 1) committee twat and discussed liquor application of a C-1 arsd C-2 pereait <br />for dba Friendly Beverage and De11, at 30129-31 Lorain Road.
