Committee requests the Administration
to provide monthly detailed activity reports on the program and staff.
2) would like to remind the Mayor and Council of a poll which was taken by an
opinion research corporation in California following Proposition 13 which we should
consider with respect to the YDP. Residents were asked what services should be re-
duced to meet the budget in the ate of California .and the poll indicated the first
choice of residents was that they should reduce areas of social services, followed by
areas of recreational services. Is not saying this is the direction North Olavsted
should go but does not think the people of North Olmsted are any different in their
thinking when it comes to their pocketbooks and paying taxes than the people of
California. Would also add that the people in the gate of California felt that
police and fire services were the highest priority. Taanted these two services to
remain at the same level or even increased in some cases.
3) Committee discussed with the Mayor the City's need for additional police officers.
It is'the opinion of the committee that two additional police officers be hired with
funding to start the first of next year.
Mr. Wilamosky moved Council, by roll call, indicate support for the hiring of two
additional police officers, seconded by Mrs. Saringer.
