<br />Council Minutes of 1C-3•T78 -2- <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) This past week have filed a brief in Coemgon Pleas <br />Court with respect to the garbage incentive program. The attornegs for the union <br />representing the service wcr~:eLs had filed a motion asking that our complaint be <br />dismissed. In response, have filed a brief in opposition. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Streets and Drainage Committee reported: 1) Committee met <br />on September 28th and discussed Ordinance No. 78-130 - ordinance accepting easements <br />in connection with the construction of the Poster Roed storm water culvert and <br />Ordinance No. 78-131 - ordinance accepting easements covering an existing storm <br />sewer - which are on second reading tonight. Committee has no objection and will <br />ask for suspension of rule requiring three readings so that these projects can pro- <br />ceed.. 2) Discussed Resolution No. ~8-135 - resolution for advertising for bids for <br />construction of sidewalk on Mi.12 Road. Committee has no objection and will ask for <br />suspension of rule requiring three readings since all neces~tary legislation has been <br />approved and it should be taken care of before the cold weather sets in. <br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman Environmental control Committee reported: 1) would like to <br />remind Committee of meeting Wednea~day, October 4th, at 7:30 P.M. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Transportation and Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committees <br />reported: 1) Committee ~t a~atd discussed Ordinance Nos. 78-113,. 78-114, 78-115, and <br />78-116. These are ordinances amending the Traffic Control Maps and Files to provide <br />for the elimination and installation of step signs. Committee hss no objections to <br />any of these changes. 2) Regarding Ordinance No. 78-143 regarding the 90-day ex- <br />tension of the RTA contract, will be asking for suspension of rule requiring three <br />readings. <br />Mr. Logan, Chairman of Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings reported: 1) Committee <br />met earlier this evening and discussed Ordinance No. 78-127 -method of fixing fees <br />for the use of the facilities of the Rsc Center. This ordinance is on second reading <br />tonight and will ask for suspension of rule requiring three readings. 2) Regarding. <br />Ordinance No. 78-136 - advertising fax bids for construction of stairway to the <br />second teary of the Rec Center, would like to thank the Recreation Com~slex Advisory <br />Board for their contribution of $1,404. Estimates on the cast of the stairway are <br />about $3,000. The Recreation Commission agreed to supply the remaining $2,040. <br />3) In the absence of the Safety Director, would like to mention that we have gone <br />out on bids for repairs for the roof of the Rec Complex as of last week. <br />In the absence of :irs. Sharpe, Chairman of Building, Zoning and Development, Mr. Logan <br />reported 1) Public Hearing was held this evening on Ordinance No. 78-94. There were <br />no objections at the Public Hearing regarding this ordinance. 2) Public Hearing was <br />also held this evening on Ordinance No. 78-103. Residents from the area voiced a <br />general opinion that the City should conadex saw kind`of permanent solution to <br />zoning conflicts there where much land has been zoned and rezoned a number of tisf <br />Mrs. Sharpe. will be asked to look into this at the next committee meeting to deter-' <br />mine a permanent zoning of either all residQ~tia1 or all industrial. 3) City Engineer <br />submitted impxovemetnt plans for the Westmarl~ Develapement Subdivision No. 1 which <br />have been approved by a~.l affected departments and boards and committee has no <br />objection. Mr. Logan moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Boehmer. Affirmative vote <br />on motion: Boehmer, Logan, Petrigac, Saringer, Wilamos'ky. Motion carried. <br />Letters; Communications: <br />President Lampert announced the receipt of two ordinances from the Clerk of Council of <br />Seven Hills regarding 1) living inereaises in Police and Firemen's Pension Fund Bene~€its <br />and 2) protective helmet requiren~nts, Bath ordinances referred to Public Safety, <br />Health and Welfare Committee for consideration at their next meeting. <br />
