s <br />Council Minutes of 6-20-98 _9_ <br />Mrs. Petrigac read letter she will be sexuiing to alI of the business people <br />along Lorain Rd. in Ward 1, asking that._tbey have "pride in North 0lmmted" <br />and sweep walks, pick up litter, etc. , in `froert -cst their pls-ca of b~iness. <br />Mrs. Petrigac will be glad to share the lever with any of the tfard council people. <br />Mr. Logan discussed the excessive high `tseds throughout the City brought about by <br />absentee landowners and cited examples. Mr. Log#pct discussed our ordinance with <br />respect to weeds, etc., and procedures, and asked if the Adndmistraton could give <br />some advice in the area of either more restrictive iegislatiom or better enforceslent <br />of our ordinance. Discussion ensued. Law Director (~aresu feels that the ordinance <br />in existence is probably the most restrictive it can get and e~cplained his reasons. <br />Mr. Logan referred to a Housing Maintemaace Code he received from Regional <br />Planning Commission which was prepared by the Commission over the past year. He <br />has discussed the code with Building Commissioner Lundy, as well as m~esrbers of <br />several cities that have adopted sielar codes. Mr. Loan req. C+~ncil to <br />informally take this under consideration sad review it; and requested the B,Z.bD. <br />Committee to study same in comparison to our code with the hope of coming up with <br />one overall maintenance code. <br />Mr. Boehmer scheduled a Safety Committee M~setimg on June 29, 1978, 7:30 P.M., <br />City Ha11, and requested Chief Bement, Safety Director Petra and City 8ngineer <br />Zurawski to be in attendance. <br />Mr. Wilamvsky scheduled a Lomg Range Planning Comm~.ttee Meeting on June 27, 1978, <br />7:45 P.M., City Hall, and requested the Chairman of the Laada~arks Comsssion to be <br />present; also, scheduled a Finance Comm:ttee P~setimg on June 27, 1978, 8:15 P.M., <br />City Hall, to review the proposed 1979 budget, and requested the Mayor, Finaace <br />Director, Office of Budget & Mamage~tnt Director and other members of Council and <br />Administration who are interested to be in attendance. <br />Mr. Wilamosky discussed the recreation area at Barton & Bradley Rds. He has received <br />calls from residents in the area Mi.th respect to trespassers, and property dosage. <br />Mr. Wilamosky requested the Safety Director to lock into the possibility of a <br />temporary fence along the properties that abut Barton & Bradley Rds. inasmuch as <br />a major tournament will take place the first weekend in July. Mayor stated this <br />is going to be a highly used recreation area and will check into possibility of <br />running a fence all the way along the property lines. <br />Mr. Beaty invited everyone to take a drive on Mastick Rd. tonight. <br />President Lampert scheduled a Special Meeting of the Council on June 27, 1978, <br />7:30 P.M., City Hall to consider Ord. No. 78-73, and second reading of 78-90. <br />Mrs. Beringer moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Logan. Affirmative vote: <br />Beaty, Bgehmer, Logan, Petrigac, Beringer, Sharpe, Wilamosky.
