Will be uaderwaq by the and of the <br />week. <br />In the absence of Safety Director Petre, Mayor Swietpniowski reported: 1) Announced <br />the promotion of Fireman Rogtr Osterhouse to the ramk of Lieutemmt. <br />2) Boaxd of Coatrol accepted the follc?wing bids: (a) 3kate rentala for th: Rec Complex <br />awarded to Reidel Skate Cougaag for $3,622; (b) Scoreboard for Diaaond No. 2 at ths <br />park awarded to Servica Supplg Compaay far $1,256.35; (c) Field striper for the <br />Rec Department awarded te Serviee Supply Companq for $1,130. <br />3) Registratian requirement for a11 individua3s ger#ormiag the duties of Priwate <br />Policemen, Securitq Guarde, and Private Imvostigators and working ia North Olmsted <br />sha:ll be effactive April 20, 1979. Maqor Swietyniawski, Council Pxeeidettt Li.mpert <br />and Corsncilmaa Wilamosky were also in attendance. Were to d3scuss Ordiramace No. 79-48 <br />which is on aecond reading ton3,ght but could nat do so since the 3.nformation requested <br />of the Serv3ce Director wae a,ot ava31ab2e at the time. Have since recsived the ra- <br />quested information. Coet of the trees rAUged from $12 to $14 per tree for a total of <br />$1,167 for 89 trees. Coet of materials auch $s polea, peat mose, etc. was $709.90. <br />It took the City 144 hours to planz the 89 trees at a cost of $1,632 just far labar. <br />Total cost of planting 89 trees was $3,508.90.. 4n several occaeiane, Mr. Corri,gsa has <br />stated that Citp labor is nat cheap. Will also add that it is aat expedient either. <br />Committee recomimeads Courneil pass t?rd3nance No. 79-48 on suspension of rule in order <br />to proceed with the bidding process sa as to heve the trees planted in Sprivig or early <br />Summer. Hopefully, an outside bidder will be cheaper than the City. Aske the MaYor <br />and Administratiaa to take a long, hard laok at the Service DepArtment for Che sake of <br />the North Olmsted taxpayers. <br />2) Met with the Mayor with regard to the newspaper receptacles at City Ha1.1. Discussed <br />the way 0lnsted Falla ruas their co].lectiau, with community orgaaisatf.ons taking tums. <br />Mayor agreed to give iC a try. LeCter will be drafted by Mrs..
