<br />Mrs. Saringer, Ciaairmaa of Streets and Drainage Couuuittee reported: 1) Committee
<br />met Mondap, 14arch 12th. Air. t,lilemosky, Service Director Corrigan and P•Zrs. Saringer
<br />were in attendance. Reviewed list of twelve streets which Committee eud Service
<br />Director agreed were in need of resurfacing. Includad in tonigtct's appropriatfon
<br />ordinance is a list of six oF those streets which they felt were priarity No. 1-
<br />totalin$ Y30,600. Total appropriatfons for street matesial is $127,000, i.ncluding
<br />$60,000 for salt, and remainder for repair wortt, patching, and a amA11 resarvqe for
<br />matching funds for Canterbury R+aad or scldi.tional concrete regair. Service Director
<br />has received no other requests re$arding sny other streets outside of the onee
<br />mentioned. Drainage repair will be dme whare needsd along w3.th the resurfacing.
<br />2) Committee met again last night. Mz. Wilamosky, President Limpart, Mr. Boaiamer,
<br />Mrs. Petrigac, Mrs. Brookshire, Mr. Mc+Cuxdy, 9afetq Director Petre, 3ervice Director
<br />Corrigan and Mrs. Saringer wsre in aCt"ianes. Mr. Auner was not prtsertt, nor were
<br />the route slips provided for this meeting " had been requessted. Ser Ndce I?irector
<br />Corzigan felt it was aot neceasarp to xevi.aw grQCedural methads becauae be felt the
<br />problem is the poor and deereptt condition of the equipment and that he did not
<br />have delivery of the two nesw atuw p1ows -which have since arrived. Cc>mmittee's
<br />intent now is to review equipment ttae,de, advertise for bids, and have legislation
<br />to accompany this as a safeguard. Aceosd3n$ to the Comcnittee and Mx. McCurdy'e
<br />figures, with the number of trucks, the time i.nvolved to comglete a r€rute, and the
<br />number of roufies, the Citq could have cavered plowing the snow three timee; hawever,
<br />the Service Director disagreed.
<br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman of EnvironmtnLal GonCrol Comarittee reported: i) Committee
<br />met March 15th with all membera present, plus Councilwoman Saringer. Com3.ttee dis-
<br />cussed Ordinance No. 79-35, the ease of the Big 0 tree, which is on stecond resding
<br />tonight. Committee decided the Chairaan would call a tree serviceaaan to look at
<br />the tree and repart its condition. Committee will then make a decision upon the
<br />recoiaraendation of the tree se,rvi.ce. Beforee pxoceed3ng with this, informed Mr. Hall,
<br />General Manager az Big 0, of our intatktion and suggested he pay for thie sesvice.
<br />Mr. Hall agreed to do so. Ha" cqnta,cted a tree service company and will report
<br />their findings within the next wesk or so.
<br />2) Committee slso discussed sn Qrdiumcs that Weetlake has on the "gxeen area" in
<br />front of businesses, etc. C1erk of Council will seeure a cogy of this ordinartce
<br />for study at next Cammittee mwseting.
<br />3) Committee xequests a list a£ the proposed trees wYtich are to be planted, utillz-
<br />ing the budgeted amount of $6,000.
<br />4) On February bth, Committee had requestetd the Admfnistration to look into a
<br />paper receptacle to be placed at City Aa11. Has Administration done so as yet?
<br />Mayor 5wietqniowaki invited Mrs. Petrigac to come to his office, at her canvenience,
<br />to discuss this matter.
<br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman of Tsamwportation and Public Safety, Aealth and Welfare
<br />Committee reported: 1) Comittee mot and discussed arn apglicaticm for an F2
<br />liquor licease for North almstec1 ChwJ.Nsr of Commerce, 29271 Lorain Road. Committee
<br />has no objecttan. Mr. BoehmeT movard that CounciI approve the F2 liquar license
<br />applicatian for the North Olmsted Qhamber of Coamerce, secanded by Mc. Wilawsky.
<br />Affirmative vate: Beaty, Boelmer, Logan, Petrigac, Sariager, Sharpe, Wilamosky.
<br />Motion carried.
<br />Air. Wilamasky, Chairman of Finea?e Comittee reported: 1) Committee met March 14th
<br />to review Ordinance No. 79-37 and recousended same changes in the ordinwee. Copfes
<br />of amended ordinance shawing these chsngea were sent to all Members af Council.
<br />Explained where changea were made. New Page 5-A was added which liste the streets
<br />for 1979 tes3urfaeinS. Committee has no objscti.crn.
