It tras bu31.t for use by the i:ethodists, Universalistss <br />rresbyterians and Corgregationalists. In 1871 the Congregatiorza].ists took <br />it over to f orm the -First Congregationalist Societq of Butterriut 2idge as <br />Lorain ?oad z-ras then called. During the next 35 ;Tears najor changes tiAers <br />r;ade including a basenent, sheds to shelter horses during services.. the <br />-o.resent tmier and a ruch 7.a.rger chznel trhich contains the original small <br />building. In 1927 because of a nesd i"or more room for cormmanity sercrices <br />the ba.ck portion tzas buitt.
