Mayor stated he wss not prepared to say easatlq where the funds would be <br />foeaid hut he waa sure thoy could be squaezed cnut af the budgat. City Bngloser <br />safd Council should nwve at thia tim in order to get the ball rolling. Neg,aCive vota: <br />Wilamoskq. 5 Ayes - 1 Nay - Motion csrried. <br />2} The Legislation Committee net on May 27th. Entire Co-umcfi was gresent wfth eu- <br />ception of Mr. Baehmer. Safaty 33i.rector, Law T/irector md Mayor ware also prssmt• <br />Comittee discussed letter from 9vperintendent of Sclools stating Chat it was Lhe <br />unaainous opinion of the Membars of the Board of Bducation that school facilities <br />were not the proper place fc?r holding boxing +satches. On the basis of thia letter, <br />Comnittee wi.ll not pur:ue lagislstion. <br />3) Coamittee also disceissed the cable TV ordinaaee. After an expl.simaticra fram <br />LaEw Mrector the "favarite aation clsuse" was not included. CQasittee was uaable <br />to come up with a recomtmdation as far aa the company to get the franchise. <br />Council-as-s-Tahole wss pvlled aicd a decision was reached. Sin,ce tbon, Cowacil re- <br />ceived a camaunication in regard to ramf:fications of two specific ax"s of the <br />particular company chosen. It was deci@ed to resaove the legislation from the agenda <br />tonight aad request a legal opinion fram the FCC. <br />4) Comittee discugsed Ordinance No. 80-33 in regard to controlled substance for <br />prescription labels. Mrs. Saringer had sent the State Board of Phatmcy a copy of <br />this ordi.nance, asking for their oginion. They were somewhat con€used by it. <br />Committee does not recammend passage of this ordinance. <br />Mr. Logan stated that he did not recall any vote being taken tbat thie Iegislation <br />not be p"sed. As Yre recalled, there vas an inforisal deciaicn to hold ia comittee. <br />Mrs. Saringer stated that she and Mrs. Petrigac voted to reJect the oYdinance. <br />Mrs. Petrigac verified tlzst she and Mrs. Saringer were not in favor of the ordinance <br />but knew that Mr. LogaM was. <br />
