Petrigac pointed out that Council was in violatfon of its own Ru2es of <br />Council by adding Ordinanee No. 81-126 to the Specia]. Council 'ieeting Agenda the <br />same day of the meeting and also that the Special Council Aieeting Agenda did <br />not allow far Committee Reparts. Mrs. Petrigac suggested that Mr. Vilamoaky give <br />his report again tonight with respect to the Finance Cam?i[tee TMieetinp. <br />Mr. TJilamakq atated that he had already planneci to do so. <br />Service Director Corrig:n reported: 1) Tlith respect to the grasa and leaf pickun <br />at :dorth Olmsted Park, this program wi.ll end Saturdeq, Yovember 219t. The last <br />pickup date on leaf pickup throughaut the City, dependiag on Che westher, wf11 <br />be December 4th. Even though the leaf piekup Cftywide is approximatelq a week <br />behind schedule, Service Director feels iC has been a successful prograia. <br />Laia Director Gareau reported: 1} In 1980, City had a case involving the Municipal <br />Bus Line regarding a c3vi1 righCs violation, entitled "Lusntta Caoper versus the <br />City of North Olmsted". A black, female bue Driaer had inciicated that she wss dis- <br />charged during her probationary period bec#ms of diecrirn3.nation cancerning her <br />race and aex. The matter went thraugh all of the stages of ad•n3.nistrative liti- <br />gation and today received word from tlze tyhio Civil Rightg Counisaion that the <br />City of North Olmsted hae been exanerated taith respect to the eharges $nd the <br />discharge will stand with respect to any implication relative Co discrimination. <br />Safety Director Petre reportede 1) On 'Nlovember llth, Fire Chief Van,•.:uren, Aasistsxat <br />Chief Limpert and Safetq Director met with Mr. Jacit Donavan of CFI with ragard to <br />PCS capacitors, furttcer meetings will be held. Members of Council have received a <br />basic outline on the meeting. <br />2) Board of Control spproved the bid from Spitzer-Lakewood, in the amount of $55y14Oy <br />for the purchase, of four police cruiserss; one unmarked car f_or the Police Department <br />and one unmarked car f.or the Rire Departrnent. <br />3) The Cleveland Plain Dealer has requested an amendment to Ordinance No. 2723, <br />Solicitine. *4ould request Council's actian on thia request. <br />4) Last Tuesdaq, the kecreation Cammiasion unanimouslq approved the concept of <br />a North Olmsted Sports Hall of Fatne. Application procedures, selection congnittee <br />snd awards format will be annouttced later.
