I y 1 <br />Council °ll.inutes of 9/15/81 <br />-2 - <br />1`l) The State Office of ::ealth and Noise Control, will be doing sound testing in <br />areas al.ong I-430. Y'ill sgecifically ask them to check the area where Mrs. Love <br />and "Ir. Dufala live, as T;?ie11 as the Nantueket area. This will only givc the exact <br />and snecific fiQUres on the noise level and does not mean that any noise barriers <br />will be installed. <br />11) One of the vrojects listed for Commmity Blcack Grant r.oney was street lighting <br />with CEI. The plan -as apgraved by the Comty; unfortunately CEi did not anprove. <br />''ould lilce to meet with Council and select another project. <br />nresident Limpert asked what the status was on the property next to Fire Station <br />No. 1. Mayor replied that there is no specif.ic agreement; needs authorizatian from <br />Council to go out on notes for the purchase. Finance Chairman will have legislation <br />introduced at the next meeting of Council for this purpose. <br />City Fngineer Zurawski reparted: 1) lgmes Ronald "ollenbach will Join the Engineer- <br />ing Department staff on September 27th to replace draftsman Sean Roland, who has re- <br />signed. <br />2) Annual relamping of traffic signals is continuing and should be completed some- <br />time this month. <br />3) A recent request by Mr. Zurawski, regarding a list of Ohio Bell Telephone Company <br />drops to various controllers in the City, has revea3ed that since 1970, the City <br />of North Olmsted has been paying for three drops in the City of Fairview °ark. The <br />cost to North Olmsted for this serv3ce was apprmimLeiy $650.00. Ohio Bell has <br />been notified that North Olmsted will no longer pay £or these three drops and the <br />City of Fairview park has agreed to pieic up the monthly service charge for them. <br />4) The traffic signal at Butternut Ridge atrtd Fitch Road has recentl.y been adjusCed <br />to a].low more'kreen time" for easCbound txa#fic. <br />5) Bids were onened September 3rd cm E'he Bartoa/Brad3ey fence project; 2owest bid <br />of approximate2q $20,000 was reee3vod from Cyckone Fence. <br />6) Have fiaaYlq cleared the 1sMt hurdle tm Calu9nbia Road, as the "ayor has mentioned, <br />to make the repairs to the Ealumb3a Raad culv+ert. The propertq owners involved re- <br />quired certain assurances from tte State of Ohio. Thraugh the effarts of the Maqor, <br />State Representative Colona8 afui StaCe Senator ?'aul Matia, these assuxances were <br />provided. (hi September llth, the City snd the State of Ohio were granted the right <br />of entry through a temporary easemient. <br />7) Durf.ng the last two weeks, a progress review meeting was held on the Waste Water <br />Treatment Plant, Step 2, which is desiRn. One of the key points the City is inter- <br />ested in is reduction, if not elimiaation, of the cador problem. Plant Superintendent <br />Crider and Mr. Zurawski are both satiefied with the progress being made. <br />Finance Director Brockman reported: 1) A copy of the State Examiners` regort is in <br />his office. Cost of the audit wss slightly over $7,000 for the slightly over two <br />year period. <br />2) Have received word fran the Cl.eveland Department of Utilities that the total <br />dollars to be received from the first collecticm under the new rate wi11 be <br />approximately $390,00 for the quarter; this compares with $272,000 for the comgar- <br />ab le quarter last year. <br />Law nirector Gareau reporCed: 1) Previcxtsly reported filing six Building Department <br />complaints; have filed seven addltf.oxtal ccmplaints. Generally, when ccxnplaints are <br />f iled, there is compliance, canseQuently h,tve attlq one costtested case which will go <br />to trial within the next couple of weeks.
