Dan Dufala wast e2ected Vice- <br />Chairman. Mayor's AdminisrratCive Asafstant waa also present. Members received copies <br />of the grant applicaticni haadbook fraa the Ofiio Department of Natural Resour-ies 9ware <br />given a simmary of the grant's program e.ncl how the Citq could qualifp. It was the <br />conseneus o£ the Advisory Ccwncil that the first step is to idenCify whether the <br />City does have a litter problem and haw to address that problem; if it axists, can <br />it be addressed within the guidelines of the grant's program. Members wi21 meet <br />agsin within the month to discuss ideas for the future. Ideas suggested att the <br />meeting included the need for trssh receptacles at bus atops; alcng the Bfke Pathy <br />at points around the City where trash cvuld be deposited dfrectlq inta cantainers <br />from vehiclea. Finding money to clean up the narth snd o£ Nc>rth Olmotecl Fark was <br />also swggested as well as t'he pc?ss3bility of a glass recpcliag grograas. All of these <br />ideas wiil be explored at future meetings. Next meetisEg will be on Mondaq, October <br />18th at 7:30 P.M. <br />4) Recreatf.on Commissioa held a sQecial meweting on Thursday, Septembar 23rd, to dis- <br />cuss the prasent conditicrn af the Recreati.fln budget; projaeted deficit ss of December <br />31st wiii be $46,578.96. One of the grajected ways ta help curb this defieit was <br />Co lay off full-time and part-time mW1oyoes hvvmver Mr. McRaq feels thie wouid hurt <br />the services at the Rec Comp],ex and impooe har++tlshtps an the otner `rorbcers there. <br />Other meAns to decrease t'his deficit are being sturli.ed and a meetin$ wi,ll be held on <br />TdEdnesday, October Sth at 8 P.M.
