Police and Fire personnel worked with <br />speed and efficiency in aetting up safety parametere, establiahing priorl,ties and <br />controlling the fxre to preveat its agrosding to ather nearbg st,rucL•ures. riembers <br />af the Bus Line and Membera of the Servl.ce Uepartment responded invsdiste2y and <br />saved important files and recards as we11 as moving mch valuable a4u3.guent to safety. <br />Oct behslf of the ent3re Cauncll, feels their dedication and valiant effQrts should <br />be spread in ful1 upon the recoxds of thi$ Caunci2 and so nc?ted in the minutes of <br />this Cautkcil Meeting as a permaitent trtbvte to Che3z untiring and courageots aetion. <br />Individually and calliectively, it was ind+aed, a job we1Z dnne and Councfl thanks them. <br />President Boehmer anutounced that Resoluticfn No. 82-16, Ordinance No. 8?-17 and <br />Ordinance No. 82-18 have beerc added to the agenda. <br />Mayor 5wietynioaski reported: 1} Tfhe Hus Line fire i.nvestigation has not been <br />completed yet; the amount of water uaad to extitrguish the fire created a lat of ice <br />which has dalaped Che investigatian an to how and vhere the fire started. <br />2) Has to agree with President boahmer"a rezaarks about the peapl.e who were Yn- <br />volved in the fire at t'ne Bus Ggrsge; slot of people have to be thsnked and Maqor <br />wilI have sQme apgropriarte groclatpstsons/resolatl;ona in, the near future. <br />3) Have rented 1:he G7.avic Chrqs],er dea1+?rship oe a temporary faciiitp for the buaes. <br />4) Presented and discussed Chree site plsnn for a City Ha11 Cauplex which woul.d <br />encompasa a bus/aervice garagQ as well as an Administration Building. <br />City Engiaeer ZuraRaaki reported: 1) Engineering Aepartmerit has changed the sigrtaI <br />at Great Northern and Country C1ub Bou].evard; thsre is now a"lagg3.ng" left turn <br />rather than the "leading" xeft turn phase on Great Northern. <br />Fi,nance Director Bvy].e reported: 1} There saill be an amended f3nsncial staternent <br />as of the end of Decembex! 1981; as scaatt ae correcti.ons are coarpleted, wil], report <br />back to Council wlth the cvrrected figures and also the reaaons for the changes.
