<br />Safety Director Petre reported: 1) Asked Council to extend continued compensation
<br />to Patrolman Tehoke whose injuries continue to prevent his return to active duty.
<br />2) Mrs. Petrigac's complaint about an incinerator on Silverdale has been handled by
<br />the Building Department who issued a correction notice.
<br />3) Lakewood Cab Company has notified the City they will be operating in North Olmsted.
<br />Cogy of their certificate of insurance is available for Council's review.
<br />4) Relative to Mrs. Saringer's complaint of evergreen branches abstucting the side-
<br />walk at Columbia and Lorain, branches have been removed.
<br />5) The abandoned vehicle on Elmhurst, as per Mr. Wilamosky's complaint, has been
<br />removed.
<br />6) Would like to discuss the establishment of a loading zone at Community Cabin,
<br />Ordinance No. 83-119, when it is reviewed by the appropriate Council committee.
<br />President Boehmer stated that Ordinance No. 83-119 would be considered at a,joint
<br />meeting of the Transportation and Saf_ety Committees.
<br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman Long Range Planning Committee reported: 1) Council Chamber's
<br />Committee met October 17th with Councilmen McKay and Petrigac, Mayour, Architect and
<br />Mr. Ketler from Mintz Construction in attendance. Committee decided to use fruitwood
<br />stain on the oak paneling. Mrs. Petrigac presented a sample of the carpeting decided
<br />on. Have asked for prices on chairs and looked at "pew" type seating for the
<br />audience. Would welcome input from Council.
<br />2) Committee discussed some rumors concerning the Bus Garage; were assured that they
<br />are untrue - the Bus Garage is completely functional. Weekly meetings are held with
<br />the Building Commissioner, Service Director, Engineer, Architect and Ma.yor. Punch
<br />lists are gone over; a final punch list will be checked; there is a year warranty on
<br />the building.
<br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation Committee re-
<br />ported: 1) Legislative Committee met this evening at 7:15 to interview
<br />Mrs. Eileen Tracyk, the Mayor's appointment to tfie Planning Conunission, to fill the
<br />vacancy of Mr. Randy Perla. Committee has no objection. Mrs. Saringer moved Council
<br />approve the appointment of Mrs. Tracyk to the Planning Commission, second by
<br />Mr. Bierman. Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote: Bierma.n, Logan, McKay, Petrigac,
<br />Saringer, t.ailamosky. Negative vote: tdoerpel. 6 Aye - 1 Nay - Motion carried.
<br />Mayor Swietyniowski administered the oatfi of office to Mrs. Tracyk.
<br />Mr. McKay, Chairman F.nvironmental Control Committee as well as Public Safety, Health
<br />and Welfare Committee reported: 1) Rec Commission met Tuesday, October 11th. Mr.
<br />Ed Bowen and Mr. Bill Huffman have resigned from the Maintenance Department. Fa11
<br />Program includes Learn to Skate, Learn to Swim, gymnastics, exercise, womens'
<br />swimnastics, volleyball, tennis, etc. A family skate, sponsored by Forest School
<br />PTA, will be held on October 30th, from 7 to 9 P.M. Northern Ohio Gymnastics League
<br />will have three tri--meets, in November, January and February. North Olmsted High
<br />School Gymnastic Team will host meets at the Rec Center; first of six meets will be
<br />held on November 21st. Registration fees are now being taken for the mens' baseball
<br />and co-ed volleyball. Four video games have been installed; a juke box has replaced
<br />the disc jockey. Pro Shop has a net profit of $8,037.46 for the year. Concession
<br />stand has started a new luncheon program; $1.50 per person. Summer Park Maintenance
<br />Program this year was $19,084.65 as compared to $21,432.68 last year. Student repre-
<br />sentative to the Rec Commision this year is Judy Farkey. Doctor Bokanyi will resign
<br />as representative to NOSO; will become President of NOSO, replacing Cliff Oldwigs.
<br />Hot Stove Baseball will become a forma.l organization and hold a non--profit status.
<br />They will have annual election of officers, travel teams and house leagues and will
<br />be known as the North Olmsted Baseball Association or the North Olmsted Athletic League.
<br />Rink income was down this year, not only because of the Learn to Skate Program, but
<br />Ice Blossoms paid $2,500 for ice last year as compared to $1,040 received in August of
<br />1983. Pro Shop stock is dwindling; a$5,000 transfer is on first reading tonight.
