<br />Council Minutes of 8/29/83 _2_ <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) Dover Center Road Project will start next Tuesday. <br />2) Lorain Road Project is in grogress with traffic being maintained. <br />3) Has received consent ordinance for east end of Lorain Road; will introduce legis- <br />lation at next Council Meeting. <br />Mr. Corrigan requested clarification of Ordinance No. 83-93, the wage ordinance. <br />Councilman Wilamosky, Finance Director Boyle and Mayor Swietynicvski discussed the <br />questions Mr. Corrigan raised and stated that the ordinance provides for a 7% in- <br />crease over the base pay now and a 6-1/2y increase in 1984; it is the same package <br />offered the 5afety forces with the exception that a 3-1/2y increase couid be taken <br />starting January 1, 1983, rather than a 7% increase effective July 4, 1983. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Ordinance No. 83-62 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third reading. An ordinance <br />establishing the complement of the Parks and Recreation Department, affixing the <br />compensation to be paid the members thereof and repealing Ordinance No. 82-45, and <br />declaring an emergency. Mr. MeKay moved for adoption, second by Mr. Bierman, unani- <br />mously approved. Ordinance No. 83-62 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 83-90 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its third reading. An ordin- <br />ance authorizing the Director of Public Safety to dispose of surplus vehicles and <br />equipment owned by the City of North Olmsted, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Wilamosky <br />moved for adoption, with the inclusion of the new exhibit, inciuding a 1974 Van, <br />VIN E24AHG34912, as well as one (1) NCR Register, previously listed an the old exhibit <br />but not shown on the new exhibit, second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. Ordin- <br />ance No. 83-90 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 83-93 introduced by Mayor Swietyniowski was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance establishing rates of compensation for various administrative and legis- <br />lative personnel, and declaring an emergency, as amended. Mr. Wilamosky moved for <br />suspension of rule requiring three readings, second by rsr. McKay. Roll call on <br />motion: Affirmative vote: Bierman, McKay, Saringer, Wilamosky. Negative vote: <br />Petrigac. 4 Aye - 1 Nay - Motion failed. <br />Ordinance No. 83-73 introduced by Mayor Swietyniawski was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for <br />the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1983, and declaring an <br />emergency, as amended. <br />Resolution No. 83-97 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its second reading. A resolu- <br />tion authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the purchase <br />of one (1) new automobile to be used for the Treatment Plant and one (1) new utility <br />vehicle to be used by the Dog Warden. <br />Ordinance No. 83-100 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its first reading. An <br />ordinance establishing the organization and composition of the non-uniform personnel <br />of the Police,Department, togetYeer with salaries and various benefits for said <br />employees, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Wilamosky moved for suspension of rule <br />requiring three readings, second by Mrs. Saringer, unanimously approved. Mr. Wilamosky <br />moved for adoption, second by Mrs. Saringer, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. <br />83-100 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 83-101 introduced by Mr. MeKay was given its first reading. An ordin- <br />41 authorizing the Mayor to enter an agreement with the City of Fairview Park <br />relative to the ownership, operation and maintenance of the proposed sanitary <br />relief sewers recommended in the North Olmsted Facilities Plan.
