Council Minutes of 7/5/83 -8- <br />LEGISLATION (cont'd): <br />Ordinance No. 83-92 introduced by Mrs. Petrigac was given its first reading. An <br />-cw ordinance amending Sectian 163.02 of the Codified Ordinances entitled "Director <br />and Employees" of Chapter 163 entitled "Department of Human Resources". Referred <br />to Legislation Committee. <br />Ordinance No. 83-93 introduced by Mayor Swietyniowski was given its first reading. <br />An ordinance establishing rates of compensatian for various administrative and <br />legislative personnel, and declaring an emergency. Referred to Finance Committee. <br />Under Old Business: <br />Mrs. Petrigac asked Mr. Wilamosky to furnish her with a list of the streets which <br />will be repaired this year. Mr. Wilamosky stated he hapes to have ameeting with <br />Service Director Corrigan to develop and prioritize such a list sometime next week. <br />Mr. Woerpel also asked ta be pr0vi.ded-with a capy of-thia 13st. <br />Mrs. Petrigac suggested that all 1981 and 1982 be considered and dealt with at the <br />next regular meeting since this i:s already July. <br />Mr. Bierman commented on an article in the Plain Dealer, June 23rd, where a farm <br />couple were awarded $243,000 damages by claiming that a new state highway would <br />upset their pigs and subject them to porcine stress syndrome. North Olmsted has <br />some residents on Grace Road who are suffering a stress syndrome. <br />Mr. Bierman suggested that the Clerk of Cnuncil notify the newspapers when Public <br />Hearings will be held, other than the mandatory legal notice. <br />Mr. Bierman also commented on the water behind the library, which he had previously <br />discussed with Service Director Corrigan. Mr. Corrigan stated that this problem <br />would be solved this summer. <br />Mr. McKay asked that Ordinance No. 83-76 and Ordinance No. 83-83 be placed on the <br />agenda for the Special Council Meeting. Mr. Woerpel asked that Ordinance No. 83-91 <br />and Ordinance No. 83-92 also be added for the Special Council Meeting. <br />Mr. Woerpel noted that the American flags placed along Lorain Road over the Fourth <br />of July appear terribly faded and torn; they need to be replaced. <br />Law Director Gareau pointed out that Council needs to pass all legislation dealing <br />with ballot issues, since they will be on vacation in August, and information must <br />be given to the Board of Elections by the first week in September. <br />Under New Business: <br />Mr. Wilamosky scheduled a Finance Committee Meeting for July llth at 7:30 P.M. and <br />requested the Ma.yor and Finance Director to be in attendance. <br />Mrs. Saringer scheduled a Legislation Cotmnittee Meeting for July 12th, at 8:15 P.M., <br />inmediately after the Special Council Meeting and reminded the senior citizens to <br />attend. Mrs. Petrigac asked that Director Copeland and Mrs. King be invited to <br />attend. <br />Mrs. Petrigac scheduled a Long Range Planning Committee meeting for July 14th at <br />7:30 P.M., to discuss the Barton/Bradley Road property and asked that Directors <br />Corrigan and Petre, Coimmissioner Gundy and Mr. Morgan from the Planning Comm3.ssion <br />be in attendance. <br />. , . .: .... .. . h..?... . .. . . ... .f..,
