Council Minutes of 5/3/83 <br />-3- <br />Safety Director Petre reported: 1) "No Parking" signs were installed on the south <br />side of Bradley Road by the Service Department a week and a half ago; it now becomes <br />an enforcement problem. <br />2) Ice Blossom Ice Show is this weekend at the Recreation Complex. <br />Mr. Logan, Chairman Transportation Committee reported: 1) Committee met April 25th <br />with all members present. Also in attendance were President of Council, Councilmen <br />Wilamoskq, McKay and Saringer, Ma.yor, Finance, Service and Safety Directors. Committee <br />discussed Ordinance No. 83-38, traffic control signal on relocated State Route 252 at <br />the intersection with Butternut Ridge Rosd and Ordinance No. 83-43 which prahibits <br />parking on the cul-de-sac on Kennedy Ridge Road; committee recommends appruval of both. <br />2) Committee discussed enforcement of Ordinance No. 77-54, having to do with the parking <br />of trucks within the City; Poliee Chief Taylor, Prosecutor Albenze and Building <br />Commissioner Gundy being preseat at this point in the meeting, as well as Mr. Steubley, <br />who was cited under the ordinance, for parking in the Gold Circle parking lot. <br />Committee wiZl continue to study this issue and will be talking with the Safety <br />Director, who has promised to help out as far as investigation o€ the issue, as well as <br />Building Commissioner Gundy, Police Chief and City Prosecutor. <br />Mr. Bierman, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee reparted: <br />1) Committee met on April 25th at 10 P.M., with all members present. Also in attendanee, <br />Council Members McKay, Petrigac and Wila.mosky; Service Director and Safety Direetor. <br />Committee diseussed Resolution No. 83-42, the agreement with Hot Stove flaseball League <br />and the North Olmsted Board of Education for the purpose of improving and msintaining <br />the Spruce Baseball Field, and recvmmends approval. <br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman Long Range Planning Committee reported: 1) Committee met <br />April 20th; present were Councilmen Saringer, Woerpel and WilawDsky, Mayor, Tom Morgan <br />from the Planning Commission, Mr. Gundy and Mr. Corrigan. Committee discussed several <br />properties owned by the City and mare informa.tion is needed since there are quite a <br />few properties that Committee feeis it should go out and look at. Will be holding <br />another meeting on May 23rd at 7:30 P.M. <br />2) Also, received a letter from the Landmarks Commission in regard to the recosmienda- <br />tions for Town Ha11; is planning ajoint meeting to discuss the recommendations on <br />May 19th at 9:00 P.M. <br />3) Interim Committee looked at the proposed podiums. Asked the Mayor to take back to <br />the architect, Committee's request that they be six inches less in depth; height and. <br />width are fine. Mayor promised to advise the architect. <br />4) If anyone is unable to attend the Block Grant Meeting tomorrow, Mrs. Petrigac will <br />be happy to take any recommendations offered. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislative Committee reported: <br />1) Committee met April 20th with Members Wilamosky and Saringer present, as well as <br />Councilmen Petrigac, McKay and Woerpel and Mayor Swietyniowski. Committee discussed <br />several amendments to Ordinance No. 83-16 as shown in the amended ordinance on second <br />reading tonight. <br />Mr. Woerpel, Chairman Building, Zoning and Developiaent Committee reported: 1) City <br />Council of the Whole Committee met last night, May 2nd, to discuss the Cable TV <br />franchise and raate operation in the City. All members of Council were present with <br />the exceptton of Mr. Logan. Various City administratorg and representatives of West <br />Shore Cable TV were in attendance. Mr. A1an Ext gave a brief presentation on the <br />4D status of West Shore Cable TV. Upon a full and complete discussion, Councilman McKay <br />moved and Councilwoman Saringer seconded, to aecept and approve the proposed rate <br />increase as proposed by West Shore Cable TV, in writing, to the Clerk of Council and <br />North Olmsted subscribers; motion carried unanimously. After discussion of future <br />rate regulations by City Council, Mr. McKa.y moved that "Council shall not regulate <br />Cable TV rates for the next three years", second by Mrs. Petrigac.
