. . <br />Council Minutes of 5/3/$3 '9' <br />Mrs. Petrigac asked if Council would consider suspension of rule requiring three <br />readings and pass No. 83-48 tonight, so it would be in place before prom night. <br />Mr. McKay pointed out that this had not yet been discussed in committee. Mrs. Petrigac <br />moved Council snspend RUe 43, Reference to Committee, second by Mr. Bierman. The <br />ensuing discussion clearly indicated that some members of Council felt that the ordin- <br />ance should have a committee discussion and recommendation to Cauncil. Mrs. Petrigac <br />called for the question, which Mr. Logan immediately challenged and stated that he <br />felt this was not something to be rushed into and he could not see how Council could <br />in any way consider passing the ordinance tonight. Mrs. Petrigac stated that she <br />felt very confidenct about this ordinance and if Council wanted to look at it in <br />depth, she was eertainly agreeable. Ro11 call on suspensension of Rule 43: <br />Affirmative vote: Bierman, Woerpel. Negative vote: Logan, McKay, Petrigae, Saringer, <br />Wilamosky. 2 Aye - 5 Nay - Motion failed. <br />Under Old Business: <br />Mr. Bierman expressed thanks to the Administration for the piacement of "no parking" <br />signs on Bradley Road and for the 3ob performed by the Service Department in regard <br />to the drainage problem on Country Club Boulevard. <br />Under New Business: <br />Mrs. Saringer scheduled a Legislative Committee Meeting for May 9th at 8:00 P.M. <br />Mrs. Petrigac scheduled a Long Range Planning Committee Meeting for May 23rd at <br />7:30 P.M. and ajoint meeting with the Landmarks Commission for the 19th at 9 P.M. <br />Mr. Logan stated that for the next two weeks he would be serving on jury duty down- <br />town and would be required to work evenings. <br />Mr. McKay scheduled a Safety CoBeaittee Meeting for 7 P.M., May 9th and requested the <br />Law Director and Police Chief to be in attendance. Also, scheduled an Environmental <br />Control Committee Meeting for Monday, May 16th at 7:30 P.M. <br />Mr. Bierman asked Service Director who was responsible for maintenanee of the drain <br />in the library parking lot. Mr. Corrigan advised thig is a chronic problem; re- <br />sponsibility lies with the City; a new line running out to Dover Center Road has to <br />be constructed. <br />Mr. Bierma.n asked Safety Director if consideration had been given to finger-printing <br />youngsters as is being done in other conununities. Mr. Fetre adnised that this had <br />been discussed recently; will iavestigate further as to its legality. <br />Mr. Bierman noted that arborvitae shrubs have been planted in the tree lawn area at <br />the northeast corner at Timber Trails; is this a proper planting on a City tree lawn? <br />Mr. Corrigan advised he would have to see if this is obscuring vision, therefore <br />constituting a safety hazgrd, which would be reported to the Building Department; <br />or if it caere a violation of the master tree planting guide, if a standard specie <br />had been established for that particular street in Timber Trails. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved Council have no objection to the Finance Director drawing upon <br />the line item, "Council, Organization and Travel", for funds to cover an invoice in <br />the amount of $119 for interpreters trom the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center, <br />second by Mrs. Saringer, unanimously approved. <br />There being no further business, President Boehmer ad3ourned the Council Meeting at <br />10:30 P.M. <br />lorence E.
