MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 4, 1984. <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac, <br />Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman Rademaker. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:00 P.M. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of November 20, 1984, were approved. <br />President Boehmer announced the following pieces of legislation were being added <br />to the agenda: Ordinance No. 84-120, establishing the complement and salaries <br />for the Parks and Recreation Department; Resolution No. 84-121, commending the <br />public service of Lt. Walt Christman; Ordinance No. 84-122, extension of sanitary <br />sewer services to an area south of Cook Road to 240 residents in Olmsted Township; <br />and Ordinance No. 84-123, extension of sanitary sewer services to the area of <br />Fitch Road and Cook Road to 90 residents and a six acre shopping strip located in <br />Olmsted Township. Also, Ordinance No. 84-110, the establishment of no stopping or <br />parking zones on the fire hydrant side of Dogwood Trail, Linwood Circle and <br />Forestwood Parkway was being removed from the agenda this evening. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) The Walter Drane contract for recodification of <br />North Olmsted's ordinances was signed on August 3rd. <br />2) Coat racks will not be installed in the closet of the conference room; this is <br />to be used for storage and shelves will be installed. <br />3) There will be a Council of the Whole Committee l~ieeting immediately following <br />tonight's Council Meeting, to meet in executive session. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) The Luwanna Cooper Trial started on the 20th <br />of November and finished on the 30th. Wi11 submit a trial brief tomorrow which <br />consists of approximately fifty-five pages. <br />2) Today, at the Board of Elections, approved the ballot language for the Special <br />Election on the 15th of January. Issue I will be the forfeiture provision; Issue II <br />will be the issue dealing with the Civil Service Commission. <br />Finance Director Boyle reported: 1) On November 22nd, sv_oke with Mr. Wayne Kuhn of <br />McDonald and Company with respect to restructuring sewer rate now that the property <br />tax issue passed in November as well as conferring with Mr. Dennis Long of Dalton, <br />Dalton, Newport. Mr. Kuhn should have the requirements completed this week. Will <br />meet at Dalton, Dalton, Newport next week and hopefully have the new rates either <br />next week or the following week, prior to the next regularly scheduled Council <br />Meeting. City has spent to date, $2,596,000 on the Wastewater Treatment Plant; <br />has received $1,890,000 from EPA, $268,000 in interest. The cost to the City at this <br />point is $437,000, part of which may become eligible within the next six months or <br />so according to Mr. Long of Dalton, Dalton, Newport. <br />.,,~,....,,~,_q~,. <br />
