Council Minutes of 12/4/84 <br />-4- <br />(e) McDonald's office building, 281.53 Lorain Road, proposal to construct an <br />addition. Material will match existing building; parking met the code; Committee <br />has no objection. Mr. Tallon moved Council approve McDonald's office building <br />addition as approved by Planning Commission, second by Mr. Bierman, unanimously <br />approved. <br />2) BZD Committee also discussed a proposal by Mr. Roger Clingman to vacate some land; <br />Committee discovered that the City does not own this land and there were several other <br />misunderstandings between Mr. Clingman and the committee; committee decided to table <br />the proposal until the Law Director furnished some direction and will then advise <br />Mr. Clingman of its decision. <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee as well as Streets and Drainage Committee <br />reported: 1) Finance Committee met on December 3rd with A4embers O'Grady and Wilamosky <br />in attendance as well as Mayor Swietyniowski, Director Corrigan, Commissioner Gorsuch, <br />Jerry Couts, Director Boyle and Director Petre also in attendance. Committee discussed <br />Ordinance No. 84-118, directing the Cuyahoga County Auditor to pay the City all tax <br />monies due and owing the City. Committee has no objection and will ask for suspension <br />of rule requiring three readings tonight. <br />2) Committee discussed Ordinance No. 84-117, which basically establishes the tax rate <br />for the City. County Auditor had failed to include the 1.4 mill Charter amendment; <br />correct copies of the ordinance, were distributed this evening. Committee has no <br />objection and will ask for suspension of rule requiring three readings tonight. <br />3) After recessing for a meeting of Council Members, the Mayor and Law Director, <br />Finance Committee Meeting continued. At this point Finance Committee member Tallon <br />was in attendance as well as Councilwoman Petrigac. Committee reviewed Ordinance <br />No. 84-115 and 84-116, to transfer appropriations and to make appropriations, and <br />suggested some changes. Did not complete the review; intend to meet again and <br />discuss. In fact, a meeting for December 10th at 7:00 P.M. has been scheduled. <br />4) Asked Mayor Swietyniowski to convene a Special Council Meeting for December 13th <br />to place legislation that needs to be concluded in fiscal year 1984 on the agenda. <br />5) Would recommend that Ordinance No. 84-108 be tabled this evening since there is <br />another comprehensive transfer ordinance on the agenda. <br />Audience participation: <br />Mr. Dwayne [aoerpel, 4632 Carsten Lane, asked when the primary election would be held <br />in the City of North Olmsted. Law Director Gareau replied the first Tuesday after <br />the first Monday in June as stated in the City's charter, despite the fact that the <br />State primary elections are held in May. It might be a good idea to change our <br />Charter in the future so that it will coincide with the State again. <br />Mrs. Madeline Brookshire, 5140 Hampton Drive, thanked Mrs. Petrigac for allowing her <br />to serve on the War Memorial Dedication Committee; suggested that a new position of <br />Clerk of Commissions be established to handle reports, distribution of information <br />and storage of information regarding commission meetings. <br />Mr. Bill Lackey, 57$2 Burns Road, on behalf of North Olmsted Community Council, <br />thanked Mayor and Council Members for attending the installation banquet on Tuesday. <br />Looks forward to working with everyone in the coming year and hopes for the same <br />help and cooperation that was extended in the past. <br />~F <br />
