Mayor replied
that a meeting will take place the first part of December and he will notify
Mrs. Petrigac when a date has been set.
Mrs. Petrigac also asked what had transpired with respect to the payment for the
homes which formerly were occupied by the City. Law Director advised that the City
had filed a suit against both parties and they, in turn, have filed counter-claims
against the City, claiming they both have sustained damages due to the delay by the
City in permitting them to move the houses. Law Director feels this will be in
litigation for the next year.
Mrs. Saringer asked if she could give a Recreation Commission Report at this time
and upon permission to do so reported: 1) Recreation Commission met on October 30th
in a special session with various groups using the recreational facilities. These
groups were West Shore Figure Skating Club, North Olmsted Soccer Organization, North
Olmsted Hockey Club, Softball Association and Horizons. Each group gave a brief
summary of their activities as well as future goals and concerns. NOSO and Softball
Association were interested in working with the Recreation Commission to eliminate
some of the financial pressure and still improve programs and facilities. Figure
skating and hockey groups were interested in having more ice time from September
until March during prime time hours. Horizons wants the Recreation Commission to
continue and perhaps increase their financial contribution to their school rental,
especially in light of their move to Chestnut School and their expanding programs
for the facility.
