Council Minutes of 9/18/84
-4-
Under Old Business (cont'd):
Mr. Wilamosky moved Council suspend the rule requiring three readings of Ordin-
ance No. 84-89, on first reading this evening, second by Mr. Bierman. Roll call
on motion: Affirmative vote: Bierman, O'Grady, Rademaker, Wilamosky. Negative
vote: Tallon. 4 Aye - 1 Nay - Motion failed. Five votes needed for suspension of
rule requiring three readings.
Mr. Bierman asked the Mayor if the contractor plans to finish up the outside work
at the new City Hall Center Project, especially the landscaping on the south side
of the property, before the snow flies. Mayor advised that the City was going to
do a portion of the work to save some money. Intends to pave the front parking
lot, the south portion; will also do the landscaping. Wants to let the back portion
settle because of the heavy equipment that will be going back there; may not do the
back portion until Spring. Mr. Bierman asked if the residents south of the project
would have some buffer there before Winter comes; Mayor responded "yes".
Mr. Wilamosky also commented on the appearance of the new complex; it appears that
the whole Service Yard was moved from North. Olmsted Park to Dover Center Road without
provisions for a buffer or screen or fence to shield the equipment. Ts concerned that
the same eyesore that developed at the Park and plagued the residents for many years
is developing on Dover Center. Believes that for a reasonable amount of money the
City could erect a shield or fence to keep City equipment out of view and improve the
esthetics of the neighborhood.
Under New Business:
President Boehmer assigned Ordinance Nos.
84-89, 84-91, 84-92, 84-93 and 84-94 into
was placed in Safety Committee.
84-78, 84-83, 84-84, 84-86, 84-87, 84-88,
Finance Committee. Ordinance No. 84-90
On behalf of Mrs. Petrigac, Mr. O'Grady scheduled a Recreation Committee Meeting for
Monday, September 24th, at 7:30 P.M., to complete plans for the City Park memorial.
Mr. O'Grady scheduled a Safety Committee Meeting for Thursday, September 27th, at
7:30 P.M., to discuss the Porter Road speed reduction, to cover the game room ordin-
ance, and to discuss a no parking sign on one side of Dogwood and Linwood Circle.
Mr. Tallon reminded Council of his BZD Meeting on Thursday, September 27th, at
7:30 P.M.
Mr. Wilamosky moved to excuse the absence of Councilwomen Petrigac and Saringer,
second by Mr. Bierman, unanimously approved.
There being no further business, President Boehmer adjourned the Council Meeting at
8:30 P.M.
Florence E. Campbell, erk of Council awes D. Boehmer, President of Council
