MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JUNE 5, 1984 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac, <br />Rademaker, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Safety Director Eugene Petre, Service <br />Director Joseph Corrigan, Director of Budget and Management <br />James Logan, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilwoman Saringer. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:15 P.M. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the regular Council Meeting of May 15, 1984, were approved. <br />Minutes of the special Council Meeting of May 22, 1984, were approved. <br />President Boehmer announced that a Public Hearing would be held on Tuesday, June <br />19th, at 7:15 P.M., just prior to caucus. The purpose of this hearing is to give <br />consideration to Ordinance No. 84-31, changing the name of Reed Road from "Reed <br />Road" to "Kenny Lane". President Boehmer also stated that Resolution No. 84-48, <br />commending the achievement of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting by <br />Rob Kirkpatrick, and Ordinance No. 84-49, establishing the organizational chart <br />for the Building Department, were being added to tonight's agenda. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) Has received notification that Bradley Road, <br />up to Center Ridge Road, will be resurfaced sometime this year; the road will be <br />open and traffic maintained. <br />Budget and Management Director Logan reported: 1) Hearing will be held June 6th, <br />at 7 P.M., at Town Hall with respect to Federal Revenue Sharing Funds; amount this <br />year is $380,900. Would urge resident participation. Ordinance No. 84-13, the <br />appropriation ordinance, previously adopted by Council lists the breakdown on <br />revenue sharing dollars as follows: Street lighting - $108,600; Dover Center Road <br />rehabilitation - $72,000; Lorain Road (east) resurfacing - $40,000; Street repair <br />material - $65,800; Traffic signals - $30,000; Fire Department Rescue Squad No. 51 <br />chassis replacement - $25,000; Fawn Drive/Columbia Road traffic signal installation - <br />$20,000; City parks and playgound improvement - $14,000; Audit for revenue sharing <br />fund - $5,000; Training - $500; Total - $380,900. Minutes of this hearing plus any <br />written recommendations will be forwarded to Council. <br />2) Has forwarded to Council an information sheet regarding the impact of two differ- <br />ent possible levy rates on North Olmsted homeowners. The 1.4 or 2.6 mill charter <br />amendment levies have been considered by Council in conjunction with user rate hikes <br />to fund the Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation, Phase III. A charter amendment <br />levy may be placed on the ballot for any date throughout the year as long as the date <br />is at least sixty days after Council adopts enabling legislation and it is done no <br />more than 120 days prior to the special election. The cost for a special election <br />would be approximately $22,000. <br />
