Council Minutes of 5/1/84 -5-
Ms. Grace Core11, 5170 Dewey Road, reported that it has been better than twenty-five
years since any improvements were made to Dewey Road. Sewer connections, made in
the first phase of construction, are sinking and causing large, deep holes.
LEGISLATION:
Resolution No. 84-18 introduced by Mayor Swietyniowski was given its second reading.
A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for
janitorial service for the Administrative wing of North Olmsted City Hall, and de-
claring an emergency, as amended.
Resolution No. 84-21 introduced by Mrs. Petrigac was given its second reading. A
resolution authorizing the Director. of Public Safety to advertise for bids for
janitorial service for the North Olmsted Recreation Complex, and declaring an
emergency, as amended.
Ordinance No. 84-37 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its second reading. An
ordinance authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the
purchase of one 1984 automobile to be used by the Mayor.
Ordinance No. 84-38 introduced by Mr. Tallon was given its second reading. An
ordinance amending Section 1000.10 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North
Olmsted, entitled "General Provisions", of Chapter 1000, entitled "Subdivision of
Land".
Ordinance No. 84-39 introduced by Mr. Bierman was given its second reading. An
ordinance authorizing the sale of surplus personal property owned by the City of
North Olmsted and previously used by the Department of Public Services, and de-
claring an emergency.
Ordinance No. 84-41 introduced by Mrs. Petrigac was given its first reading. An
ordinance providing for the submission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted
of a proposed amendment to the Charter of the City of North Olmsted relating to
establishing the procedure for non-partisan elections, and declaring an emergency.
Referred to Legislation Committee.
Under Old Business:
Mr. Wilamosky asked when the audience seating for the Council Chambers would
arrive and be placed and when the contractor would proceed with grading and land-
scaping the mounds of earth along the sidewalk at the Administration Complex.
Mayor replied that the seating is to be delivered on May 14th. The wet weather has
delayed the landscaping; possibly could be started this week if the weather permits.
Under New Business:
Mrs. Petrigac discussed the seminar, Tomorrow's Community Today, which stressed the
need for professional planning. The suggestion was made that if one city could not
afford a professional planner, it might join with other cities and share the service.
Mrs. Petrigac suggested that President Boehmer call a meeting with the Building
Commissioner, Planning Commission, Architectural Board of Review and Council-as-a-
Whole Committee and have a "brain-storming" session as to the direction the City
should go. President Boehmer scheduled a Council-as-a=Whole Committee Meeting for
Monday, June 4th, at 7:30 P.M., to meet with the appropriate Boards and Commissions.
Mrs. Petrigac volunteered to help plan the agenda for the meeting.
Mr. Bierman asked the Clerk of Council to read a letter he received recently re-
lating to the problems of the people on Butternut Ridge Road with respect to living
near the City school. They have daily occurrences with respect to trespassing,
littering, vandalism, obscenities. Request the Administration, police and schools
