Captian Brow's report indicated that
this would not add to existing traffic congestion. The real problem is that Lorain
Road is a business district from the Fairview Line to Elmhurst Road and should be
a 25 mile per hour zone. Secondly, the old outdated traffic signalization on Lorain
Road needs to be replaced. Safety Director Petre added that although a reduction
to 25 miles per hour on Lorain Road had been discussed by Council, no decision was
reached.
Audience participation:
Ms. Lorraine Hudson, Member Horizon's After School Center Board of Directors, presented
the same talk she gave at the public hearing regarding CDBG money. Mrs. Saringer commented that as Councilwoman in this
ward for twelve years, she had NEVER had a request for street lights on Ambour Drive.
Mrs. Petrigac commented that the Mayor would provide City personnel to serve as
secretary to the Landmarks Commission.
Mrs. Min Crumb ley, Ambour Drive, stated that the residents on Ambour Drive emphatically
do not want street lights.
Ms. Mary Ormsby, Dewey Road, reported on the deplorable conditions of this road
with all the water and mud. Mr. tJilamosky stated that hopefully Dewey Road would
be included in the street improvements to be made through the use of CDBG money.
Mrs. Sokol, 4909. Porter Road, asked when the speed limit on Porter Road would be
lowered to 25 miles per hour. Had made this request more .than a year ago.
