Council Minutes of 4/17/84
-6-
Mrs. Petrigac commented that at the Public Hearing on CDBG money, the County
representative referred to Regional Planning. The City of North Olmsted does
not belong to Regional Planning. CAN North Olmsted join Regional Planning.
Mayor replied yes. Mrs. Petrigac then asked WILL North Olmsted join Regional
Planning. Mayor replied no. North Olmsted belongs to Northeast Ohio Areawide
Coordinating Agency; joining Regional Planning would be a duplication of services.
Mrs. Petrigac asked the Mayor to get same ball-park figures on the cost to the
City of a master plan developed by NOACA for the City of North Olmsted. Mayor
stated he would do so.
Mrs. Petrigac asked when the back part of North Olmsted Park would be cleaned up;
when will the work start. Mayor replied the building would be torn down on
Monday; will be spreading some top soil and grading.
Going back to Mrs. Petrigac's prior comment, Mr. Wilamosky stated that the City
has spent $50,000 in the last fifteen years on comprehensive plans; feels that
there is enough talent on Council and in the Administration to make the decisions
on how North Olmsted should be developed without hiring outside planners.
Mr. Bierman asked if the fire extinguishing systems in the telephone vault and
computer room have been checked by the contractor to see if they are operable.
Mayor replied the systems will be charged within the next couple of weeks by the
contractor; at this point they are not operational.
Under New Business:
Mrs. Petrigac discussed the sweeping of City streets and suggested that businesses
along Lorain Road be notified so they could sweep their debris into the street
and have it all swept up by-the large sweeper. Mayor replied he would rather the
businesses put their debris in trash bags to be collected by trash haulers. Will
try to have Lorain done more than once.
Mrs. Petrigac scheduled a Transportation Meeting for 7 o'clock, Monday, May 7th
and requested the Fire Chief to be in attendance. Also, scheduled a Recreation
Committee Meeting for 7:30 P.M., Monday, May 7th, and requested Safety Director,
Rec Complex Director, Finance Director, Commissioner Gorsuch and Director Logan
to be in attendance. Added that Commissioner Gorsuch should attend the Transportation
Committee Meeting also.
Mr. Bierman scheduled a Long Range Planning Committee Meeting for May 7th at 8
o'clock and invited all Council Members to attend.
President Boehmer announced a Public Hearing covering Ordinance Nos. 83-136, 83-137
and 84-32 for Tuesday, May 22nd at 8 P.M.
There being no further business, President Boehmer adjourned the Council Meeting
at 9:10 P.M.
• `~
orence E. Campbell, lerk of Council ames D. Boehmer, President of Council
