<br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairman Public Safety, Health and t~Telfare Committee reported: 1) Moved
<br />Council have no objection to the transfer of a D5 liquor permit from Darleen M. and
<br />James D. Oblock, dba Restifo's Restaurant and Lounge, 26679 Brookpark Road Extension,
<br />to Arturo Sanfilippo, dba Arturo's Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge, 26679 Brookpark
<br />Extension, second by Mr. Bierman, unanimously approved.
<br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings, as well as Trans-
<br />portation Committees reported: 1) Members of Landmarks Commission attended the Board
<br />of Building Code Appeals meeting regarding a request for a stay of demolition of
<br />the historic home on Porter Road; Board denied the request. Owners now have sixty days
<br />to appeal to Council to overrule the Board, take the necessary steps to keep it, or
<br />sell. Mrs. Petrigac is afraid the present owners do not realize what the options are
<br />and will be talking with Building Commissioner Gundy to see if he can make contact
<br />with them so they thoroughly understand what is going on.
<br />2) Transportation Committee met briefly this. evening regarding Ordinance No. 84-7,
<br />asking for no parking along Country Club Boulevard. Majority of committee recommends
<br />approvel; one member ob3ects, mainly because he feels "no parking" should extend all
<br />the way to Lorain Road, not just from Columbia Road to Victoria Lane.
<br />Mr. Tallon, Chairman Building, Zoning and Development Connnittee reported; 1) BZD
<br />Committee met on Thursday, March 1st, with Building Commissioner Gundy, President
<br />Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, Tallon in attendance. Commissioner Gundy presented
<br />the following requests:
<br />a. Biskind Development Corporation; proposal to construct a retail
<br />store, Carpet Barn and Tile House. Committee has no objection. Mr. Tallon moved
<br />Council approve plans to construct a retail sore, as recommended by the Planning
<br />Commission and the Architectural Review Board, second by Mr. Bierman, unanimously
<br />approved.
<br />b. Arby's., 26368 Lorain Road, proposal to install a free-standing,
<br />walk-in type freezer. Committee has no objection. Mr. Tallon moved Council
<br />approve said proposal per recommendation of Planning Commission, second by Mr. O'Grady,
<br />unanimously approved.
<br />2) Committee discussed Ordinance No. 83-.124, adopting a new section of the Zoning
<br />Code of Chapter 1173 entitled "General Retail Business District", and has no objection.
<br />This ordinance will be on for Public Hearing prior to the next regular Council Meeting
<br />on March 20th.
<br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee as well as Streets and Drainage Committee
<br />reported: 1) Streets and Drainage Committee met on March 1st. Discussed jointly,
<br />with BZD Committee, Ordinance No. 84-11 which is a grading ordinance. Some additional
<br />questions were brought up, Committees recessed until March 5th at which time the
<br />legislation was discussed in depth with Service Director. Corrigan. Committee has no
<br />objection to the legislation with the exception of the last sentance in the first
<br />paragraph of Section 3, Mr. !ailamosky moved that this sentance, "In the event that
<br />builder has more than five buildings in any one subdivision, the City Engineer may,
<br />at his discretion, reduce the amount to be deposited for each additional building in
<br />excess of five.", second by Mr, Tallon, unanimously approved. Mr. Wilamosky asked
<br />for a legal review by the Law nepartment with respect to the title of Ordinance No,
<br />84-1T which is somewhat unusual.
<br />2) Finance Committee met on March 1st for a preliminary review on the appropriation
<br />Ordinance, No. 84-13. Reconvened again on March 5th with a number of recommendations
<br />which were developed by the co~nittee. WiJ_1 continue to review and hope to submit all
<br />recommendations at one time; should be completed in two weeks.
