Council Minutes of 2/7/84
-7-
Under New Business:
Mr. Wilamosky stated that the Finance Committee of Council will be discussing the
municipal tax ordinance, looking at success or liability for corporate change overs,
expanding and improving the subpoena program and developing a graduated penalty with
additional charges. Will hopefully develop some recommendations.
Mr. Wilamosky stated that in light of his earlier comments this evening with respect
to notification of meetings, would move that Council amend Rule 5 of the Rules of
Council by inserting, between the last and second last sentance, "A11 such meeting
notices shall contain the signature of the requesting person or parties", second
by Mrs. Saringer. Mrs. Petrigac objected to such a motion, stating that it would
be very difficult to contact two other Council Members, get their signature and
then get it to the Clerk of Council since Members of Council have full time jobs and
work during the day. Roll call on motion to Amend Rule 5 of the Rules of Council:
Affirmative vote: Saringer, Wilamosky. Negative vote: Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac,
Rademaker, Tallon. 2 Aye - 5 Nay ^ Motion failed.
Mr. Rademaker requested that Ordinance No 83~-40, authorizing the Director of Public
Service to advertise for bids for the removal of trash from condominium properties,
be referred back to the Environmental Committee so he could schedule a meeting to
discuss. Finance Director asked to be invited to such a meeting.
Mrs. Petrigac asked if the Administration could send a letter to all residents on
Dover Center Road advising when the road is open - when it is closed; what portion
of the road is affected; what will be done about the chuckholes and damage being
done by the heavy equipment, etc. Service Director asked that all such specific
complaints be referred to City Hall; ask residents to call City Hall.
Mrs. Petrigac asked how inheritance taxes were listed in the budget. Finance Director
advised it is listed in the General Fund, on the front page of the December 31st
statement, under "Estate Tax".
Mrs. Petrigac complimented Public Works Director, Mr. Gorsuch, for all the help he
offered on a Saturday when she did not know where to turn for assistance in solving
a problem.
Mr, Wilamosky moved Council amend Rule 5 of the Rules of_ Council, to insert between
the last and second last sentance of Rule 5, "All such meeting notices shall contain
the name(s) and name of the requesting party", second by Mrs. Saringer.
