<br />very informative presentation. A bill is currently in the State legislature to
<br />y expand the market of the lottery to include non-profit organizations and
<br />governmental agencies as licensees. If the bill passes, there is a possibility
<br />for the Rec Commission to be licensed on a trial basis Mr. Charles Simpson,
<br />Protective Coatings, Incorporated, gave a presentation on the Dow Corning poly-
<br />urethene silicone roof system. Tom Fattler reported out on the programs underway
<br />at the Rec Center. Mr. Couts gave an income report; it is $75,,,000 better than in
<br />1982, with a $10,000 profit in the Pro Shop. Mr. Andrews, Mrs, Saringer, Richard
<br />Barski, a landscaper, and Jerry Couts have been designated to pursue a plan to
<br />beautify the front of the Rec Center. Groups, organizations and businesses will
<br />be contacted to help defray the cost of the project. The energy report is due in
<br />60 days. First of the budget hearings is set for January 24, 8 P.M., at the
<br />Rec Center.
<br />Mr. Wilamosky asked if Mr. Couts reported out or discussed his current inventory
<br />level, starting 1984, versus the inventory level in 1983. Mrs. Saringer stated
<br />she would let Mr. Wilamosky look at her detailed report, Mr. Wilamosky requested
<br />Director Petre to supply him with this information.
<br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairman Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee reported.:
<br />1) Safety Committee met on Monday, January 9th with. all members present as well as
<br />President Boefimer, Councilman Bierman, Building Commissioner Gundy and Safety
<br />Director Petre. Committee reviewed Ordinance No. 83-154 which regulates dish-type
<br />satellite signal-receiving earth sfiations. Mr. O'Grady explained the changes that
<br />were made in the ordinance, which are reflected in the amended form, and include
<br />the following: Under "Permits Required'; franchised television cable companies now
<br />serving the City were exempted from the requirement. Under "Permits and Plans",
<br />"oval type" was added to "dish type"; Subsection (3) now reads "Installation shall
<br />be made in accordance with plans and specifications as provided by the manufacturer."
<br />and Subsection (4) now reads '' Contractor erecting the satellite earth station
<br />shall be registerd as provided in accordance with Codified Ordinance, Chapter 1317,
<br />as a satellite signal.-receiving earth station contractor. Section 1'i67.08 has.
<br />been amended to read: "Appeals from the decision of the Building Couanissioner may
<br />be made to the Board of Buidling Code Appeals as stated in Section 1315.08 of the
<br />Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted."
<br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks and Building Committee as well as
<br />Transportation Committee reported: 1) Mrs. Saringer neglected to mention that
<br />Mrs. Petrigac is also on Mr. Andrews' committee for the beautification of the Rec
<br />Center. First meeting will be held on Thursday, the 19th of January; any input
<br />will be very welcome Recreation Commission will be discussing the budget, on
<br />January 24th at the Rec Complex, at 7:30 P.M. Since this will have to go into
<br />the Recreation Committee, perhaps Mr. O'Grady could be in attendance, as will
<br />Mrs. Saringer and Mrs. Petrigac, so all may be involved right from the beginning.
<br />2) Council Chambers Committee met on Thursday, January 5, 1984, with Councilmen
<br />Tallon, Wilamosky, Petrigac, President Boehmer, the architect, Mayor, Budget and
<br />Management Director and Finance Director in attendance. Different styles of chairs
<br />for Council and Administration were discussed; a total of thirteen is needed.
<br />Committee selected three; architect will get prices and see if selected colors are
<br />available. Committee discussed general public seating and feel a pew-type seat
<br />will be most economical and accommodate more people; there is a ten week delivery.
<br />Committee met again on January 12th to discuss prices. Were told the selected
<br />carpet is no longer available. Mrs. Petrigac displayed a sample of the new carpet
<br />selection, which is dark blue with a beige and ]_ight blue design. Pew seating will
<br />have a light blue covering; chairs will be in bright red or the secondary choice of
<br />wine. Committee is still quite concerned over the fact that they have never received
