<br />Council Minutes of 1/17/84 _6_ <br />Under New Business: <br />Mrs. Saringer scheduled a Legislative Committee Meeting for January 25th, at 7:30 P.M. <br />to discuss ordinance recodification and requested Department Heads, Law Director and <br />Mayor Swietyniowski to be in attendance. <br />Mrs. Petrigac scheduled a Transportation Committee Meeting for Thursday, January <br />26, 1984; at 7 o'clock, and requested the Mayor and Safety Director to be in attendance. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved that Council hereby encourages the Administration to attempt to <br />undertake meaningful negotiations with RTA for an operating agreement and within <br />45 days, if no headway is being made, that the Administration meet with this Council <br />and the Department of Law, to establish just when and if the City should move ahead <br />with a breach of contract action against the Regional Transit Authority, second by <br />Mrs. Petrigac, unanimously approved. <br />Mrs. Petrigac discussed the newspaper stories and pictures about the trees being cut <br />down on Dover Center Road and the residents being very upset by this. Why do the <br />residents have to pay $1.00 and who gets it? What happens to the wood once the trees <br />are cut down? Mayor replied that he does not know anything about a dollar charge; <br />this article and pictures were about [+lestlake; work has not started in North Olmsted. <br />Mayor has notified all the residents, by letter, that work will be started on Dover <br />Center Road, past Rose Road, very shortly. If there are any problems, they were given <br />a telephone number to call. Cfty will be very cautious about what trees have to be <br />cut down. [dhen the State contracts for tree removal, they decide where the wood <br />goes; this is handled in the negotiated contract. <br />There being no further business, President Boehmer adjourned the Council Meeting at <br />9:10 P.M. <br />~ M ~.w• f. <br />Florence E.
