Council Minutes of 1/17/84 _6_ Under New Business: Mrs. Saringer scheduled a Legislative Committee Meeting for January 25th, at 7:30 P.M. to discuss ordinance recodification and requested Department Heads, Law Director and Mayor Swietyniowski to be in attendance. Mrs. Petrigac scheduled a Transportation Committee Meeting for Thursday, January 26, 1984; at 7 o'clock, and requested the Mayor and Safety Director to be in attendance. Mr. Wilamosky moved that Council hereby encourages the Administration to attempt to undertake meaningful negotiations with RTA for an operating agreement and within 45 days, if no headway is being made, that the Administration meet with this Council and the Department of Law, to establish just when and if the City should move ahead with a breach of contract action against the Regional Transit Authority, second by Mrs. Petrigac, unanimously approved. Mrs. Petrigac discussed the newspaper stories and pictures about the trees being cut down on Dover Center Road and the residents being very upset by this. Why do the residents have to pay $1.00 and who gets it? What happens to the wood once the trees are cut down? Mayor replied that he does not know anything about a dollar charge; this article and pictures were about [+lestlake; work has not started in North Olmsted. Mayor has notified all the residents, by letter, that work will be started on Dover Center Road, past Rose Road, very shortly. If there are any problems, they were given a telephone number to call. Cfty will be very cautious about what trees have to be cut down. [dhen the State contracts for tree removal, they decide where the wood goes; this is handled in the negotiated contract.
