M <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE .COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OI.MSTED <br />DECEMBER 17, 1.985 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, O~Gxadp, <br />Petrigae, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski., Law Director Michael Gareau, <br />Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman Rademaker. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer a.t 8.:15 P.~., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of December 5, 1985, were approved., <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinance No. 85--125, to establish "no <br />parking" on the cu7.-de-sac. on Shelley Dri~te, had been removed £ram the <br />agenda. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) The fan directing warm air at the top of <br />the atrium is an attempt to keep .the ice £rom forming up ,there. I£ this <br />solution to the icing problem works out, two small heat due s will be in- <br />corporated to provide a permanent solution. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) He recently issued a legal opinion with <br />respect to various position appointments by an in-coming Mayor; it is on <br />file in the Clerk of Council's off ice. <br />In the absence of Finance Director Boyle, Clerk of Council reported that <br />Councilman Wilamosky will be covering the Finance Department in his Finance <br />Committee report to council. Also, Director Boyle extends his best wishes <br />for a happy holiday season to everyone as well as wishing Mayor Swietyniowski, <br />President Boehmer and Councilman Bierman every success in their future en- <br />deavors. <br />Mr. Bierman, Chairman Long Range Planning Committee reported: 1) With re- <br />spect to Block Grant money as it affects housing and street improvements, <br />a program would be established whereby eligible residents would have drive- <br />way approaches repaired and/or reconstructed to eliminate potential safety <br />concerns and to improve the esthetics and access into and out of driveways. <br />To assure conformity with city standards of construction, the groject will <br />be supervised by city inspectors. All permit fees and inspection costs <br />will be waived because of low and moderate incomes. While the project <br />will be determined by weather, a starting date of April, 1986 has been <br />targeted. <br /> <br />
