~~ ~. <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING -0F THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 15, 1985 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac, <br />Saringer, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilmen Rademaker and Tallon. (Councilman Rademaker present <br />at 9:15 P.M.) <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:30 P.M., in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of October 1, 1985, were approved. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved to remove Ordinance No. 85-86 from the agenda and hold it in <br />committee for further review, second by Mrs. Saringer, unanimously approved. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinance No. 85-108 and Ordinance No. 85-109, <br />providing for appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the <br />city, have been added to this evening's agenda. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Intra-Governmental. Relations and Legislation Committee <br />reported: 1) Committee met briefly this evening to discuss a reappointment. <br />Mrs. Saringer moved Council approve the Mayor's recommendation for Mrs. Patricia <br />Bahas to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Gus Bahas, on the Civil Service Commission, <br />ending December 31, 1988, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved. <br />2) Since there was no quoram last Tuesday, the Recreation Commission Meeting was <br />postponed until next Tuesday at 8 P.M. It was brought to the Commission's attention <br />that federal funds are available for bike paths; Ohio's share being $4,000,000. <br />Ohio Department of Transportation will pay 100 of eligible construction costs. <br />Local communities need to provide construction contract plans, necessary right-of- <br />way and bikeway maintenance. Commission intends to fill out an application to <br />apply for these funds to complete the city bike path. <br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairman Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee reported: <br />1) On behalf of Councilwoman Petrigac and himself, stated that the Safety Fair <br />was held on October 6, 1985, with approximately 350 children receiving the Child <br />Registry books, pictures, fingerprinting and dental examination. Especially thanked <br />the administration, Fire and Police Departments, the respective chiefs thereof, <br />for their participation. Thanked Councilman Bierman for his attendance. Dis- <br />cussed the Safety Fair with Karen Maxima who advised that another Fair will be held <br />next year; she requested that organizations and businesses continue to contribute <br />their donations, through the Finance Department of North Olmsted, who is handling <br />all the funds. Mrs. Maxima would also like to thank the news media for their ex- <br />cellent coverage both before and after the Fair. <br />
