.. ~ ..~. <br />Public Hearing Minutes of 10/15/85 <br />-2- <br />Audience participation (cont'd): <br />Mr. Jack Boss, stated that pole signs are not hazardous and can be beautiful. <br />Asked for input from the Chamber of Commerce and residents before Council votes <br />on the legislation. <br />Mr. Allen Ext, General Manager West Shore Cable TV, presented a breakdown on costs <br />of installing underground wiring. Cost is prohibitive; disruption in traffic and <br />in business traffic would be tremendous; disruption of service to TV subscribers <br />would be terrible; maintenance costs would be higher due to vandalism and damage <br />to "pedestal" boxes on the ground. <br />Mr. William Giesser, stated the business community wants to open lines of communi- <br />cation, work with the city; improve businesses in general; establish uniformity <br />and design; get rid of the illegal signs. <br />There being no further business, President Boehmer adjourned the Public Hearing <br />at 7:55 P.M. <br />Florence E.
