.e
Council Minutes of 10/1/85 '6-
Mr. Wilamosky discussed the resurfacing of Barton Road and asked what the
administration could do to preserve a healthy environment with respect to
clean air during construction; why can't the road be closed off except for
local access? Service Director stated that city barricades were originally
set up; he was unsatisfied with the barricading and felt city barricades should
not be used because of liability to the city in case of any liability claims.
Ordered the barricades removed and advised the contractor that it was his
responsibility, under the contract, to barricade the street. Will be meeting
with the contractor tomorrow morning and will discuss the situation.
Mr. Wilamosky also discussed the area where the leaves are deposited after
collection by the city; understands that some other debris has been dumped there.
Service Director replied that it is not all debris; it is assets of the city.
Top soil from various jobs is being stockpiled there as well as scrapings from
Clague Road which will be used for berm material. It is Class A fill; will be
recycled and reused. Only occasionally do some people sneak in with trash.
Mayor Swietyniowski reported that leaf pickup would begin on October 14th and
continue through at least December 13th, depending upon the weather. If leaves
are raked up prior to October 14th, they must be bagged and put out for rubbish
pickup.
There being no further business, President Boehmer adjourned the Council Meeting
at 9:30 P.M.
~. --
lorence E. Campbell, C rk of Council James D. Boehmer, President of Council
