A .' <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JUNE 5, 1985 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky (present at 8:25 P.M.). <br />Also present: Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director Edward Boyle, <br />Clerk of Council Florence Campbell, <br />Meeting. was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:15 P.M., in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of regular Council Meeting of May 21, 1985, were approved. <br />Minutes of special Council Meeting of May 23, 1985, were approved. <br />President Boehmer announced: 1) Councilman Wilamosky is delayed and will be in <br />attendance presently. <br />2) Ordinance No. 85-51, creating a capital improvement fund entitled "Infra- <br />structure Fund", has been removed from the agenda. <br />3) Honorary Officials for 1985 are as follows: Honorary Mayoress - Cheryl Gerke, <br />Troop 1980; Honorary Mayor - Fred Hagemeister, Troop 664; Honorary President of <br />Council - Hope Kross, Troop 6; Honorary Ward 1 Councilman - Mike Zika, Troop 664; <br />Honorary Ward 2 Councilman - Dawn Kross, Troop 1067; Honorary Ward 3 Councilman - <br />Mark Miller, Troop 204; Honorary Ward 4 Councilman - Karen Filina, Troop 1980; <br />Honorary Councilmen at Large - Mark Principe, Troop 53; Karen Riley, Troop 1980; <br />Rob Kirkpatrick, Troop 761. Mrs. Scouting, 1985, is Karen Novak, Troop 1067 and <br />Troop 664; Mr. Scouting, 1985, is Bob Case. Honorees were presented and recog- <br />nized by the audience and council members. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) Council will recall they re-zoned the Jamestown <br />property about two years ago, however, it never went on the ballot. It has been <br />in the court system and a decision has been handed down directing council to re- <br />zone the property within thirty days; if the council fails to do so, then the <br />Building Commissioner will be enjoined from prohibiting the developer to develop <br />the property for multi-family. Law Director will prepare to discuss this situation <br />with council prior to the next meeting to decide which way to proceed. <br />2) Has collected and forwarded to the Service Department $1,000 with respect to a <br />fire hydrant case. <br />3) Romp Re-zoning Case has been reset for trial on July 23rd. Since Law Director <br />will be on vacation, will ask to have an extension to sometime in August. <br />4) A new bus line case has been turned over to the insurance company. <br />5) D'Aiuto versus the City of North Olmsted, a 1972 easement problem which caused a <br />million dollar law suit, will be tried in August. <br />6) Arbitration case in the City of North Olmsted versus Valore has been continued <br />due to the death of the defendant in the case. <br />7) Depositions were taken this past week of Ben Wright; case has been set for trial <br />in August. <br /> <br />
