.,,~ <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 16, 1985 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:15 P.M., in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of January 2, 1985, were approved. <br />President Boehmer announced: 1) Resolution No. 84-114, recommending that the Ohio <br />Department of Transportation take immediate steps to commence construction of the <br />relocation of Route 252, which falls north of Lorain Road, has been amended and <br />placed back on the agenda for second reading. <br />2) Also, Ordinance No. $5-7, amending Section 1?_02.02 of the Zoning Code, has been <br />placed on first reading tonight. <br />3) Ordinance No. $5-6, establishing the new user charge for the use of wastewater <br />treatment services, has been removed from the agenda for amending. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) Is attempting to forma Charter Review commission <br />and needs candidates. There ~oill be openings on some of the commissions; persons <br />interested in .serving should submit resumes. At next Council Meeting will announce <br />his appointment to the Planning Commission. ?•lill forward the gentleman's resume <br />to the Legislative Committee. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) A motion for summary judgment has been filed in <br />the Burger King Case. Depositions were taken last week, the motion for summary <br />judgment was filed and he is waiting for the ruling. <br />Finance Director Boyle reported: 1) Finance Department is in the process of closing <br />year 1984 right now. [dill be issuing two statements for the year on a cash and on <br />an accrual system. The State of Ohio is currently looking into legislation to re- <br />quire all cities to issue a statement on an accrual basis. Report will be in the <br />council packets by the beginning of next week. <br />2) Regional Income Tax booklets are a little late - there was a problem with printing - <br />but will be in the mail shortly. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation Committee re- <br />ported: 1) Recreation Commission meeting was held on January 8th, at which time <br />Mr. O'Rourke was elected Chairman for another term; Mr. Rich Scott was elected Co- <br />chairman. Commission unanimously approved Laura ?Jright as secretary. Discussed <br />whether or not it would be worthwhile to keep the Pro Shop open; realized a profit <br />of $2,800 and will consider sub-letting this section to realize a larger profit. <br />Mr. John Long of Roth Brothers will present the formal proposal, an $850,040 capital <br />improvement plan, at a meeting to be held on January 29th, at 8 P.M., for Council as <br />a Td'hole Committee and the Administration. The proposal includes replacing the pool <br />.~,.,,.. <br />
