Council Minutes of 1/16/85 -6-
Under New Business (cont'd):
Mrs. Petrigac also noted that a temporary, part-time Budget and Management Director
had been hired. How is his salary figured? Mayor responded that it was based on
his prior salary on an hourly basis, at four hours per day, part-time. Mayor
promised to get it, in writing, to Mrs. Petrigac.
Mr. Wilamosky discussed the sewer rate ordinance, No. 85-6; asked Finance Director
Boyle when he would have sufficient information for discussion by Council so as to
move ahead in a very positive vein to adopt a rate structure to attempt to reduce
the existing rates. Mr. Boyle replied that he had already proposed rates that would
satisfy the financial requirements but he has some concern for other parts of the
ordinance. Because of the phone outage, could not get calls through today. Was
able to talk to Dalton about four o'clock and Squire, Sanders and Dempsey contacted
him at home .just prior to tonight's meeting. The ordinance is being investigated
to make sure it is a "clean" ordinance with no problems. Hopes to have all the
questions resolved before the end of the week; a Special Council Meeting can then
be called the early part of next week for passage. Mr. Wilamosky commented that he
thought it very important to have the new rates adopted prior to the end of this
billing period so residents will have their meters read and will be billed at the
new rate and not at the $14.98 rate currently in effect. Mr. Boyle again advised
that there are still some questions to be answered; would be glad to discuss them
with Mr. Wilamosky after tonight's meeting.
There being no further business, President Boehmer adjourned the Council Meeting
at 9:10 P.M.
~, ~ vy1~
lorence E.
