Council Minutes of 1/16/85 -5- <br />LEGISLATION (cont'd): <br />Ordinance No. 85-5 introduced by Mayor Swietyniowski was given its first reading. <br />An ordinance approving the extension of sanitary sewer services to approximately <br />six (6) acres of land at Fitch Road and Cook Road and consisting of the Olmsted <br />Township Municipal Center and a five (5) acre shopping area located within Olmsted <br />Township. Referred to Environmental Control Committee. <br />Ordinance No. 85-7 introduced by Mr. Tallon was given its first reading. An ordin- <br />ance amending Section 120?_.02 of the Zoning Code, entitled "Uses Permitted", of <br />Chapter 120 of the Zoning Code, entitled "Area Uses and Standards in Mixed-Use <br />Districts A and B". Referred to BZD Committee. Mr. Tallon asked that the Public <br />Hearing on this ordinance be set for March 5th at 7 o'clock. <br />Under Old Business: <br />Mrs. Petrigac commented that she had discussed the hand rail in the front of City <br />Hall at a prior meeting and asked the Mayor if he had looked into the re- <br />installation of this railing.. Mayor replied that it had been discussed; was <br />being reviewed; is going to try and replace it with something. <br />Mrs. Petrigac also noted that during his Finance Committee report, Mr. ?~Jilamosky <br />had covered the same material that. had already been given in a Transportation <br />Committee report. Perhaps legislation that is referred to one committee and <br />then has to go into the Finance Committee could be covered in a joint committee <br />meeting and.have all the people who need to be present came out only one evening <br />and a joint report could be made only one time. <br />Under New Business: <br />'~[r. O'Grady noted that a President of Council Pro Tem had to be elected to serve <br />during 1985 and therefore he nominated Ron TJilamosky, second by Mrs. Saringer. <br />Mr. Rademaker nominated Mrs. Petrigac, second by Mr. Bierman. Air. Wilamosky moved <br />to close nominations, second by Mr. O'Grady. Roll call on motions: Bierman <br />stated Petrigac; O'Grady stated Wilamosky; Petrigac stated Petrigac; Rademaker <br />stated Petrigac.; Saringer stated Wilamosky; Tallon stated Tlilamosky; Wilamosky <br />stated ~dilamosky. 3 votes for Petrigac; 4 votes for Wilamosky. Couneilman Wilamosky <br />voted President Pro Tem for. 1985. <br />Mr,, Bierman reported many phone calls from residents on Columbia and Clague Roads <br />~.aho said. disabled motorists on I-480 ai~e asking to uss their telephones in emergency <br />situations, Thev do not mind but .this is a dangerous situation when a female is <br />hone alone at three o'clock in the morning. Asked the administration to look into <br />an emergency phone system or the possibility of installing, a phone booth at Clague <br />and I-480, Colurmbia and I-48(.a and Stearns and I-480. Mayor advised Ohio Bell had <br />been approached at one point and they did not feel the service was necessary; will <br />give it another shot.. Mayor has also been thinking of an emergency phone direct to <br />the Police Department. Mayor will look into this situation. Mr. Bierman stated he <br />would be happy to work with the administration. <br />Mrs. Petrigac scheduled a Transportation Committee Meeting for Tniednesday, February <br />13th, at 7:30 P.M. <br />Mrs. Petrigac also noted that the phone system at City Hall had not been working <br />again today; nor this evening. What is the problem? Mayor responded that the <br />room designed to house the phone system has been over-heating and the equipment <br />fails. Will have to vent the room to let the warm air dissipate; hope this will <br />solve the problem. <br />x--~~ <br />
