Council Minutes of 1/16/85 -4- <br />Audience participation: <br />Mrs. Madeline Brookshire, 5140 Hampton Drive, discussed the problem the Mayor had <br />mentioned with respect to getting residents to serve on the boards and commissions <br />of the City as well as the Charter Review Commission. Suggests there be more <br />coverage by the newspapers, on the City information channel on television, in <br />various homeowner newsletters, on the City bulletin board in front of_ the Police <br />Station, etc. Mayor responded that these were good ideas and would be con- <br />sidered. <br />LEGISLATION• <br />Ordinance No. 84-124 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance creating new and revised Chapter 702 of the Codified Ordinances of the <br />City of North Olmsted, entitled, "Traveling Public Shows or Carnivals". Mr. O'Grady <br />moved for adoption, second by Mrs. Petrigac, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. <br />84-124 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 84-125 introduced by Mr. Tallon was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance amending Sections 1000.02 and 1000.07 of Chapter 1000 of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted, entitled, "Subdivision of Land". <br />Mr. Tallon moved for adoption, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. Ordin- <br />ance No. 85-125 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 84-126 introduced by Mayor Swietyniowski was given its third reading. <br />An ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Western <br />Cuyahoga Lodge No. 25 of the Fraternal Order of Police, North Olmsted Division, <br />which agreement is the collective bargaining agreement between the City and the <br />Police Department, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Wilamosky moved that this ordin- <br />ance be removed from .the agenda and placed back into committee for further review, <br />second by Mrs. Petrigac, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. 84-126 placed back <br />into Finance Committee. <br />Resolution No. 84-114 introduced by Mrs. Petrigac was given its second reading. A <br />resolution recommending that the Ohio Department of Transportation take immediate <br />steps to commence construction of the relocation of Route 252, which falls north <br />of Lorain Road, as amended. Mrs. Petrigac moved for suspension of rule requiring <br />three readings, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. Mrs. Petrigac moved <br />for adoption, second by Mrs. Saringer, uanimously approved. Resolution No. 84-114 <br />adopted. <br />Resolution No. 85-1 introduced by Mr. Bierman on behalf of the ?Mayor and the entire <br />Council was given its second reading. A resolution commending the public service of <br />Chief Marion R. Taylor. <br />Resolution No. $5-2 introduced by Mrs. Petrigac was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to advertise for bids for <br />various vehicles and equipment for the Police and Fire Departments. <br />Ordinance No. 85-3 introduced by Mr. ?Jilamosky was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance establishing working conditions and benefits to be paid to the employees <br />of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 85-4 introduced by Mr. tJilamosky was given its first reading. An <br />ordinance declaring purpose of restrictions on transfer of $590,000 City of North <br />Olmsted, Ohio, Industrial Development First Mortgage Revenue Bond (Bryant and <br />Stratton Project) and related documents, waiving such restrictions, consenting to <br />transfer, and declaring an emergency. Referred to Finance Committee. <br />
