~~'t <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 5, 1986 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilmen Lackey, Logan, McKay, <br />O'Grady, Rademaker, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:30 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of October 22nd, 1986, were approved as <br />amended: Page Two amended to read, "Mx. McKay, Chairman Environmental Control <br />Committee as well as Streets and Drainage Committee." <br />President Saringer announced that Resolution No. 86-113, a resolution <br />accepting for recording purposes only the Pebblebrook Subdivision Revised <br />Plat, and Ordinance No. 86-114, an ordinance establishing a Law Enforcement <br />Trust Fund pursuant to Ohio Revised Code, Section 2933.43(D), were being <br />added to tonight's agenda. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Has appointed Tom Stroh to fill the vacancy on <br />the Civil Service Commission; expressed appreciation for the excellent job <br />done by Mark Musial who recently resigned from this commission. <br />2) Has appointed Safety Director Bud Becker and Ellen Goggin to serve as the <br />Mayor's appointments to the TV Cable Advisory Commission. Would ask Council <br />to make its appointments to this commission so a meeting could be scheduled. <br />3) The Administration is working to develop a city-wide disaster plan; <br />walk-through seminar was held a few Saturdays ago; it was most successful and <br />quite enlightening. Thanked Mr. Noble, Bud Becker, Patti Florkowski, <br />Patrolman Wolf and the volunteers from the North Coast Amateur Radio Club who <br />participated. <br />4) Has asked that Mr. Fred Hatton be appointed to serve on the Department of <br />Human Resources Advisory Board; resume has been given. to Councilman Lackey. <br />5) The NOACA Board has adopted a motion asking the Governor to consider re- <br />turning a portion of the monies generated through the new Federal Income Tax <br />Law to the local governments. This could replace some of the General Revenue <br />Sharing Funds that will be lost. <br />6) Suggested Council keep abreast of the recently passed Toxic Laws, in <br />California; it could have some affect on North Olmsted's Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant down the line. <br />7) First meeting was held with Pete Marwick who did the RTA audit. <br />8) City is presently negotiating with AFSCME, the Fire Department, and will <br />begin Police Department negotiations next week. <br />
