MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 7, 1986 <br />Present: President Pro Tem Thomas O'Grady, Councilmen Lackey, McKay <br />_Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Pro Tem O'Grady at 8:10 P.M., in <br />Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of September 16, 1986, were approved. <br />President Pro Tem O'Grady announced: 1) Resolution No. 86-97, a resolution <br />urging Congress to adopt legislation eliminating the "notch" in the Social <br />Security System, is being added to tonight's agenda. <br />2) Ordinance Nos. 86-85 and 86-91 will be amended by Mr. Wilamosky during <br />his committee report. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved Council amend the agenda. to provide for the nomination and <br />election of a Council President to fill the vacancy and unexpired term of <br />former Council President Dwayne Woerpel, second by Mr. Ta11on, unanimously <br />approved. <br />Mr. Wilamosky placed in nomination the name of Janet Saringer; <br />Mr. Rademaker placed in nomination the name of Dennis Rademaker; <br />Mr. McKay placed in nomination the name of Thomas O'Grady. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved that nominations be closed. <br />Roll call on nominations: Mr. Lackey stated Saringer; Mr. McKay stated O'Grady; <br />Mr. O'Grady stated Saringer; Mr. Rademaker stated Rademaker; Mrs. Saringer stated <br />Saringer; Mr. Ta11on stated Saringer; Mr. Wilamosky stated Saringer. 5 votes <br />Saringer; 1 vote 0"Grady; 1 vote Rademaker. Mrs. Saringer elected President <br />of Council by a 5 - 1 - 1 vote of council. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved for a brief recess.to allow Mrs. Saringer to be sworn in, <br />second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. Law Director Gareau administered the <br />oath of office to Mrs. Saringer; President Saringer was recognized by Members of <br />Council and members of the audience and took the Chair as President of Council. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Halloween will be celebrated in North Olmsted on <br />October 31st, from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. <br />2) RTA Claim Department will now handle all public liability claims and property <br />damage collections arising from bus operations and any damages that may occur to <br />bus shelters. City will continue tv insure, under its policy, all of .the non- <br />revenue vehicles. <br />3) Delinquent taxes will be collected by Regional Income Tax Agency from October <br />13th through October 21st here in council chambers. <br /> <br />
