Council Minutes of 10/7/86
-8 -
Miscellaneous business:
Mr. Rademaker asked if appropriate revisions had been made in Ordinance No.
86-85. Mr. Wilamosky advised they would be reflected in an amended ordinance
that will be on the agenda October 21st.
Mr. McKay noted that he had received a call from a senior citizen who was very
upset because the senior citizen van was not available on Monday and Tuesday;
they were in use in Olmsted Township and Olmsted Falls. He understood that
the city had three vans. Mayor advised that .the two vans are scheduled for
Olmsted Township and Olmsted Falls on Mondays and Tuesdays; there is a shortage
of drivers. Director of Aging, Betsy Jack advised that is true; also, the
Kiwanis van has mechanical problems and is on and off service; at the present
time have only two drivers. Van is available in North Olmsted on Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday. Priorities for use are first - medical needs; second -
food and third - senior activities. If there were another driver available,
North Olmsted would not have a problem. Is looking into the possibility of
having volunteer drivers. Discussion continued.
Mr. Wilamosky reported that the Risk Management Committee did meet on the 2nd
of October with Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Boyle, Budget and Manage-
ment Director Cunningham and Mr. Wilamosky in attendance along with Mr. Rademaker.
Committee discussed having representatives from a local adjusting firm meet
with them to present some ideas with respect to what direction the city could
take to reduce risk; what they could offer the city in the form of service as
adjusters to handle claims. Will meet next week to discuss this as well as
any updates Mr. Cunningham might be getting from the city insurance agent with
respect to any additional losses.
Mr. Lackey asked the Mayor if she knew what the status was with respect to
Timber Trails and the dedication of the streets there. Mayor replied that
the administration had been working on it; will get the information back to
Mr. Lackey.
President Saringer asked what council would like to do with respect to the
letter to the School Board. Mr. Wilamosky moved that the Clerk of Council
draft a letter with respect to councils intent and forward it to the School
Board, second by Mr. Tallon, unanimously approved.
There being no further business and the agenda being completed, President Saringer
adjourned the council meeting at 9:50 P.M.
~~ GG
orence E.
