MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF .NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 20, 1986 <br />Present: President Dwayne Woerpel, Councilmen. Lackey, McKay, O'Grady, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. (Councilman McKay <br />present at 8:.30 P.M.) <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Woerpel at 8:00 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of May 7, 1986, were approved as amended: <br />Page 6, Paragraph 4, Streets and Drainage Committee Meeting was scheduled <br />for "May 8th", not for "May 19th" as indicated. <br />President Woerpel reported: 1) Councilman McKay is enroute from the east side <br />of Cleveland and will be a little late for tonight's meeting. <br />2) Welcomed those in attendance in .the audience; asked the senior citizens to <br />please stand to be recognized since today is Senior Citizens' Day. <br />3) Introduced Karen Novak and David Dillon who are co-chairmen for the All <br />Scouts' Weekend, June 6th, 7th and 8th; mock council meeting will be held on <br />Saturday, June 7th as well as parade and award ceremony. The following were <br />also recognized: Mr. Robert Zika and Mrs. Karen Schroka -- Mr. and Mrs. Scouting <br />for 1986; Honorary Mayor, Mike Zika and Hope Cross; Honorary President of Council, <br />Fred Hagemeister; Honorary Councilman, Ward 1, Mark Principe; Honorary Councilman, <br />Ward 2, Mark Miller; Honorary Councilman, Ward 3, Mark Frazier; Honorary Council- <br />man, Ward 4, Larry Franke; Honorary Councilmen at Large,. John Wurz, Jim Krych, <br />and Jeff Dillon; Honorary Law and Finance Directors, Robert Horne. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Responding to requests made at the last council <br />meeting, Mr. Wilamosky has been provided with a list of Service Department em- <br />ployees; copy of Dan Ryan's legal opinion with respect to the Stuckart complaint <br />has been forwarded to all council members; Mr. Wilamosky has been given a reply <br />with respect to the south culvert on McKenzie as well as the rumored cost of <br />over-run in the Olmsted Colony Project. <br />2) Advised council that Alex Carr had died; .this is the gentleman who helped put <br />up the lights at Homecoming and was actively involved in other community projects; <br />extended the city's sympathy to the Carr Family. <br />3) Announced that City Hall would be closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of <br />Memorial Day. <br />4) Reported that credit union representatives will be at City Hall on Friday to <br />explain their plan to interested employees. <br />5) Reminded everyone that the city would be participating in Cleveland Indian's <br />Appreciation Night on Friday, May 23rd at the Cleveland Stadium. <br />.: <br />
