MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAX 7, 1986 <br />Present: President Dwayne Woerpel, Councilmen Lackey, McKay, O'Grady, <br />Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. (Councilwoman Saringer present <br />at 8:30 P.M.) <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Glerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman Rademaker. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Woerpel at 8:15 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council: in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of April 15, 1986, were agproved. <br />President Woerpel reported:. 1) Councilwoman Saringer will be in. attendance <br />at approximately 8:30 P.M.; Councilman Rademaker has a prior comcnittment and <br />will not be present this .evening. <br />2) The following pieces of legislation are being added to tonight's agenda: <br />(a) 86-38, to make appropriations for current expenses; (b) 86--39, supporting <br />the Cleveland Indians; (c) 86-40, regarding State Route 252; (d) 8641, to <br />transfer appropriations for current expenses; (e) 8fi-42, establishing .the <br />Organizational Chart for non-uniform personnel in the Police Department. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: Arbor Day ceremonies began .Thursday with Butternut <br />Elementary School planting a butternut tree in front of .the school; Middle <br />School students and Superintendent of Schools, along tArith city officials, <br />planted two butternut trees at Middle School. On Saturday, Cub-Scout Pack 52 <br />planted evergreens around the Rec. Complex; Boy Scout Troop 53, as a clean-up <br />project, gathered debris .along Brookpark Road. <br />2) Board of Control met and awarded the bid for ,the Community Cabin wiring to <br />Bay West Electric. Cabin will be closed July lst.through July 31st. <br />3) City will be receiving the fourth quarter of .the General Revenue .Sharing money; <br />Mayors and Managers Association. is lobbying to continue revenue sharing next year. <br />4) Building Commissioner, Assistant Commissi.on.er, Mr. Bower and members of his <br />corporation, the city's legal consultant Mr. Dana-Ryan, anal Mayor Petrigac. met <br />to discuss the concerns expressed by Mr. Stuckart and Mr. Cabot at the last <br />council meeting. All the records with respect to e.ity inspection of ,the properties <br />were examined. According to Mr. Ryan's report, the city must stand on its records <br />and. the matter is closed as far as the city is concerned. . <br />5) Mayor is appointing an Ad-Hoc Committee to suggest a five year financial plan <br />as well as a short-term financial .plan. .The people.wha have already indicated <br />they were willing to serve on .this committee are:. Budget and Management Director <br />Cunningham, who will serve as Chairman; Finance Director Boyle; Treasurer of <br />the school system, Wayne Bettindorf; National City Bank retiree, Don Debrodt; <br />National City Bank security member, Paul Cowgill; CPA June Seascholtz, member of <br />the League of Women Voters who are planning on doing a study of .the finances of <br />North Olmsted.. Will be contacting other people; hopefully, will get the Chamber <br />of Commerce involved. <br />-..~~.. <br />
