Mr. O'Grady, Chairman Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee reported:
1) Because of numerous Building Code violations, a D1 liquor permit for Gary Von
Agency, dba Frauleins, 25700 Lorain Road, was previously objected to. Building
Commissioner Spino reports this building requires extensive alterations and
remodeling to comply with the new use proposed; no applications for alterations
have been submitted to date. Mr. O'Grady therefore moved Council object to the
issuance of a D3 liquor permit to Gary Von Agency, Incorporated, dba Frauleins,
25700 Lorain Road, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved.
2) Mr. O'Grady moved Council have no objection to the issuance of an F2 permit
to the Kiwanis Club of North Olmsted, 29271 Lorain Road, for a function to be
held on Sunday, May 18th, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved.
Mr. McKay, Chairman Environmental Control Committee as well as Streets and
Drainage Committee, had no report but asked if a street cleaning schedule had
been set up yet. Mayor Petrigac replied that street cleaning would start
this week.
Mr. McKay stated that he had an opportunity to attend a demonstration of a
machine similar to the Jet-Vac. The difference between the two is that this
one does not flush the residue down the sewer; it vacuums it back up and it
is taken away in containers, thereby eliminating the danger of causing blockage
further along in the system. The city's .present vehicle has 6,000 miles on it
and this machine is capable of being mounted on this vehicle so the cost would
go down from $130,000 to about $60,000.
Mr. Tallon, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee reported:
1) Will be amending Ordinance No. 86-29 to include the WE CARE Program and
the addition of a senior citizen's rate for use of the ice rink at the Rec Complex.
