<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 1, 1986 <br />Present: President Dwayne Woerpel, Councilmen Lackey, McKay, O'Grady, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Ta11on, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Finance Director Edward Boyle, Clerk <br />of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Woerpel at 8:25 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of March 18, 19.86, were approved. <br />Minutes of the Special Council Meeting of March 26, 1986, were approved. <br />Minutes of the Special Council Meeting of March 27, 1986, were approved. <br />President Woerpel advised that three new pieces of legislation were being added <br />to the agenda: Ordinance No. 86-29, establishing the method by which fees for <br />the use of the facilities of the Recreation Department are to be fixed; <br />Ordinance No. 86-30, amending the Traffic Control Map to provide for "no right <br />turn on red" at the intersection of Brookpark Extension and Dover Center Road; <br />Resolution No. 86-31, expressing opposition by the city to provisions of <br />H.R. 3838 relating to state and local government obligations. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Mayor Petrigac and City Engineer Schaller met with <br />Mayor Clough and Westlake's City Engineer as well as County Engineer, Tom Neff, <br />on March Zlst, in regard to the Bassett/Stearns Extension. Both Mayors and <br />City Councils will meet to discuss the Bassett/Stearns Extension and the <br />Columbia Road Extension when a date can be mutually agreed upon. <br />2) Service Director Noble and Mayor Petrigac met with Mr. Clancy and Mr. Frick <br />to see if there were any properties that could be jointly used to save tax <br />dollars. Administration will be compiling a list of city-owned properties, <br />with suggested land use, and will present to council upon completion. <br />3) CIC Meeting was held last Thursday with a slide presentation suggesting ways <br />cities can help retain and expand businesses within the community. The plan is <br />called "Retention and Development". One of the seminars attended by Mayor in <br />Columbus covered this same subject. <br />4) Mayor will be serving as a "celebrity waitress" to aid the Leukemia Society <br />at a luncheon to be held on April 8th at the North Olmsted Party Center; tickets <br />for the luncheon cost $15. <br />5) Has been advised by the Board of Elections that two liquor options will be <br />placed on the ballot for the May 6, 1986, election. One option will be offered <br />to the voters in Ward 2, Precinct A and the other to voters in Ward 3, Precinct G. <br />6) Would ask the President of Council to reconvene .the Memorial Committee to de- <br />cide on a fitting inscription for the Korean and Vietnam memorial stones at the <br />park; would like to have this done by Memorial Day. <br />7) McKenzie Road will be closed beginning April 9th for approximately fourteen <br />days, Lorain Road to 5580 McKenzie Road; Southern Avenue to 5589 McKenzie Road. <br />Local traffic will be maintained and detour roads will be posted. <br /> <br />
