Council Minutes of 4/1/86 -2- <br />8) North Olmsted Park is being cleaned up from the winter; ball diamonds are <br />being fixed; grounds around the memorial cut and trimmed; rest rooms being <br />cleaned and repaired. Complimented the Service and Recreation Departments for <br />working so well together in accomplishing this clean-up. <br />9) Senior Center is in need of a van driver. Qualifications for the position <br />as well as application can be picked up at Senior Center. <br />10) Mayor read a proclamation, "Kids Identif ication Sign-Up", which proclaims <br />April 10th through April 13th as Child Safety Days in North Olmsted. Child. <br />fingerprinting will be done at the Great Northern Shopping Center at this time. <br />11) Inaugural Ball proceeds amount to $2,205; Checks in the amount of $735 each <br />will be presented to Comity Council President for the renovation of the <br />Community Cabin, to the Republican Club of North Olmsted and to the Democratic <br />Club of North Olmsted. Ba11 committee did a fabulous job; especially :thattked <br />Ellen Goggin, Bob Grace, Ellen Patton and Treasurer Madeline Brookshire for the <br />financial report. <br />Mr. Wilamosky asked if both sections of McKenzie Road would be under repairs at <br />the same time; Mayor responded that the northern section would be done first, <br />Mr. Lackey suggested that additional policemen be assigned to patrol this area, <br />in particular along Decker Road, since this is a heavy residential area with a <br />lot of children. Mayor responded that the police have been alerted to the <br />closing as well as the detour route; Mr. Lackey's concerns will be forwarded. <br />In the absence of Law Director Gareau, Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Trial has be- <br />gun in the Crumbley Case; jury was selected, consisting of four women and two men; <br />witnesses will testify on Wednesday and Thursday; if necessary, trial will con- <br />tinue on Monday. <br />Finance Director Boyle reported: 1) Reminded everyone that the Child Registry <br />Fund is still open and money is still being received, Statement will be issued <br />at the end of the year as to proceeds. <br />2) Reports for the city as of the end of December 31, 1985, have been filed with <br />the state/federal government for revenue sharing, etc. Copy is on file with <br />Clerk of Council for review. This is a preliminary cash basis report; formal <br />audited report will be issued sometime this summer, <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Building, Zoning and Development Committee reminded her <br />committee of a BZD Meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 3rd, at 7:30 P.M. <br />Mr, McKay commented that he hoped the work being done by the Service Department, <br />in the clean up reported by the Mayor, would not interfere with the street <br />repair work to be done. <br />Mr. Wilamosky added to the Mayor's report with respect to the CIC Meeting by <br />advising council that Mr. Bud Becker is now officially a member of the CIC. <br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairman Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee reported: <br />1) Safety Committee Meeting was held on March 26th with Mr. O~Grady, Mr. Lackey, <br />Mr. Tallon, Chief Marsh, Chief VanKuren, President Woerpel and Councilman McKay <br />in attendance. Committee discussed the wet/dry precinct controversy; letter was <br />received from William Fleharty, Director of Department of Liquor Control, clearing <br />up the controversy with respect to Timber Trail Party Center, Ward 3, Precinct K. <br />This is a "wet" precinct and their license only has one restriction, that being, <br />"sale of wine is illegal". In the future, Clerk of Council, upon receipt of a <br />liquor permit from Columbus, will check with the Board of Elections as to whether <br />the location of the applicant is in a "wet" or "dry" precinct and will so advise <br />council. <br /> <br />
