MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE .COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF .NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 1, 1987 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilmen Bohlmann, Lackey, McKay, <br />O'Grady, Ta11on, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Xvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gateau, ~'inan.ce <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council. Florence Campbell.. <br />Absent: Councilman Rademaker, <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M., in C.cauncil <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join. Members of Council in xeciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of November 17, 1.987, were approved. <br />President Saringer announced that .Ordinance No. $6-92, amending Section 121,3,04 <br />of the Zoning Code, entitled "Improvements of Parking Areas" of Chapter 1,213, en- <br />titled "Detailed Requirements", had been. removed from ton.ight's agenda, Also, <br />suspension of the rule requiring three readings will be requested on Ordinance <br />Nos. 87-120, 122, 124, 125., 128 and I29. The majority of .the legis~.ation.on <br />third reading this evening is old legislation going back as far as 1982 so most <br />of it is no longer viable and will be disposed of tonight. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Gave a detailed report of her investigation into <br />the possible establishment of a Mayor's Court in North Olmsted, and with. City <br />Prosecutor Albenze and Police Chief Marsh concurring, has decided such a court <br />is not feasible at th is time. <br />2) NOACA Board will be meeting with State Representative Petro and Senator <br />Suhadolnik on December 9th. NOACA will present a proposal for fair and. equitable <br />treatment of northeastern Ohio communities regarding the major infrastructure <br />problems that can be addressed by the passage of Lssue 2, <br />3) All directors and department heads attended a meeting with representatives of <br />Workmens Compensation this morning. City's rate for 1,98$ will rise about 16~ or <br />approximately $100,000. <br />4) Has received an offer from a builder to purchase .three city-Awned lots on Vita <br />Lane. Initially these lots were. set aside f.or recreation, however, .they are <br />really not large enough to be developed for baseball/soccer f ield.s, An appraisal <br />will cost about $350; would like President Saringer to place it into the proper <br />committee if council would like to pursue this matter, <br />5) Manor Care and Rini's Stop-n-Shop at West 231st Street are offering free <br />pictures of children, taken with Santa. Claus, on December l$th from 5 to 7 P.M., <br />for donations of canned goods. Two members of the Cleveland. Force Soccer Team <br />will be on hand to sign autographs and free candy canes will be distributed. All <br />food donations will be given to North Olmsted's Food Bank under the Department <br />of Human Resources. <br />6) Expressed deepest appreciation to the Tiger Gubs, Troop 53, who did a splendid <br />job decorating council chambers and. the Christmas tree. <br /> <br />
